This simple but cleverly designed device consists of a leather and cloth gauntlet going up to the elbow, with a metal plate covering the brunt of the fist and a windlass coiled with thin rope. The rope stretches out to the hand and goes across the plate, ending up at the back of the hand were it loops back round and into the windlass. Different small bottles can be attached to the rope and pulled to the fist, where they can be shattered by the force of a punch. The windlass can be wound up so a new bottle slides into place as the old one shatters.
Depending on the chemical contained in the bottle, differing effects can occur, but the gauntlet itself causes 1d4 x your Strength bonus, plus 1d8 piercing damage from the shattered glass. When no bottles are loaded, the gauntlet only causes bludgeoning damage, no potion effects or piercing damage is applied. Any Tiny potion can be used, however Consumed potions have only a 50 percent success rate of inflicting the effect.
Made from tough but flexible leather, studded leather is reinforced with close-set rivets or spikes.
