Asphodel's Vengeance is a legendary warhammer forged by demons from the obsidian bones of Asphodel, an Ancient Black Dragon.
The head of the warhammer is shaped like a dragon's maw. The haft of the warhammer contains five indentations where runes or gemstones would fit.
There is a mechanism on the grip of the warhammer which allows the draconic head to pivot and the maw open. A barrel runs down the length of the haft and the muzzle fires through the open maw of the dragon, releasing a dragon breath style attack.
You have a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
Draconic spirit-runes. For each draconic spirit rune that is infused with this weapon, the weapon deals an additional d8 of damage per hit, corresponding to the dragon's type (Black = Acid, Green = Poison, Red = Fire, Blue = Lightning, White = Cold).
Breath of Vengeance. As an action, you can utilize the weapon's breath attack mechanism. This is not a spell. When activated, you blast energy in a cone. Each creature in the area of the cone must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking half damage on a successful save. For each draconic spirit rune infused with the weapon, the range of the cone increases by 10ft and the damage increases by 3d6 of the corresponding dragon's type and the save DC increase by 2 from a base of 10 - (for example, if you have 2 draconic spirit runes infused, it is a 20ft cone that deals 6d6 damage, DC14 Dex save).
Proficiency with a Warhammer allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
