While holding this deep brown oaken shield, you have a +1 bonus to AC.
The edges of the shield have deeply burned in ancient Elven runes. In the center of the shield a deeply burnt in brand of the symbol of a massive ancient Oak tree. A successful History or Religion check of DC 12, (DC 8 for elves, and DC 10 for half elves) will reveal that this is the symbol of the Elven god of nature, Rillifane Rallathil.
The wielder of the shield also gains resistance to necrotic damage while using this shield as a boon from Rillifane Rallathil.
The AC bonus is in addition to the shield's normal bonus to AC.
Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
