Armor (plate), artifact (requires attunement)

"A warrior does not need peace. A warrior needs battle. The will to strike, to end, to survive. This armor will make you unstoppable, but at what cost? The choice was never yours to begin with."

While wearing Akropolis, you become a relentless force of war, but the armor demands sacrifice in return. Akropolis feeds on its wielder, corrupting their mind and body.

Corruption.

When you drop below a quarter of your HP, you must make a DC 18 Wisdom saving throwOn a failure, you gain 1 point of Corruption and 1 level of exhaustion.

  • Corruption has 5 levels—upon reaching Level 5, your soul is consumed, and your body is lost forever, trapped within the armor.
  • Reducing Corruption: You may feed the armor specific gemstones to lessen its grasp on you.

All healing effects you receive are halved.

5

(Final Stage)

Your soul is completely consumed by Akropolis.

Your body becomes an empty, unyielding husk, driven solely by war.

You cannot be resurrected short of a Wish spell or divine intervention.

You become an NPC controlled by the DM, a mindless force of destruction in eternal servitude to the armor.

Purging Corruption

To reduce Corruption, you must feed Akropolis specific gemstones depending on your level:

Corruption Level Required Offering
1 Topaz
2 Ruby
3 Diamond
4 Gem Dragon Scale

If you cannot or refuse to feed Akropolis, the corruption will fester, and your descent into war will be inevitable.

Plate consists of shaped, interlocking metal plates to cover the entire body. A suit of plate includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and thick layers of padding underneath the armor. Buckles and straps distribute the weight over the body.
