The Aspect of the Parrot is a small, poorly carved statue of a parrot with an eye patch. It vibrates whenever its in the presence of a pirate. Once attuned, this item turns into a real parrot with an eyepatch.
As an action, you can throw the parrot at a person while shouting, “Yarr! Thar be a landlubber!” The parrot will transform into a real parrot, and will attempt to land on the target’s shoulder for up to two weeks before turning back into a statue. If the parrot succeeds in this task, it will become rooted on the target’s shoulder until the target sings a sea shanty while wearing an eyepatch, or someone uses a dispel curse spell on the target. The DM will decide whether the sea shanty was satisfactory. Until the parrot is removed, it will loudly squawk pirate adages and insults at its wearer.
While wearing this item in either form, its wearer gains proficiency with water vehicles and navigator’s tools, if the creature does not already have them. Additionally, the wearer gains a thick pirate accent and can communicate with any pirate creature that knows a language, and may apply double their proficiency bonus for Charisma (Performance) checks made for singing a sea shanty.
Notes: Proficiency: Vehicles (Water), Proficiency: Navigator's Tools, Proficiency: Performance, Language: Choose a Language, Mounting the item on your shoulder for 1 day.
