All-Purpose Toolbelt

This living belt can grow a variety of objects in response to its owner's thoughts.

As an action, you can reach towards the belt and have it grow any type of artisan's tool (see the "Equipment" chapter in the Player's Handbook for a list of artisan's tools). Whatever form the tool takes, you are proficient with it. If this action is used again, the previous tool disintegrates.

As an action, you can focus on the belt and have it grow a single magical device. Choose a cantrip that you don't know from any class list. For 8 hours, you can cast that cantrip using the grown object, and it counts as your spell cantrip for you. Once this property is used, it can't be used again until the next dawn.

Up to 2 weapons or arcane foci can be bound to the belt, which is eager to assimilate new tools. This is done by performing a ritual over the course of 1 hour while you hold the item(s). This can be done during a short rest. If the maximum number of bindings is exceeded, the oldest binding breaks and the item appears at your feet. A binding also ends if you die or use a 1-hour ritual to break it.

• Any weapon or focus bound to the belt effectively disappears when not in use, but can be drawn normally, as it instantly grows when needed.
• Any bound item that is no longer in contact with you at the end of the current turn disintegrates, but may be regrown from the belt on a subsequent turn.
