Armor of the Dead

Description: This hauntingly beautiful armor is crafted from dark, metallic scales that shimmer with an eerie, ghostly light. When worn, the armor seems to whisper softly with the voices of the departed, offering both protection and unsettling power to its wearer.

Properties:

  • Necrotic Resistance: While wearing this armor, you have resistance to necrotic damage.

  • Spectral Ward: Once per long rest, you can use a bonus action to create a spectral ward around yourself. For the next 10 minutes, you gain an additional +2 to your AC and advantage on saving throws against being frightened.

  • Death's Embrace: As an action, you can call upon the spirits of the dead to aid you. All creatures within 20 feet of you must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC 15). On a failed save, a creature takes 4d6 necrotic damage and is frightened for 1 minute. On a successful save, it takes half damage and is not frightened. This ability can be used once per long rest.

Curse: While attuned to this armor, you are haunted by the whispers of the dead. You have disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks and saving throws against being charmed or frightened.

Plate consists of shaped, interlocking metal plates to cover the entire body. A suit of plate includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and thick layers of padding underneath the armor. Buckles and straps distribute the weight over the body.
