Fizzlebop’s proudest failure—a spring-loaded, steam-powered, auto-retracting spoon arm that attaches to his armor. It was intended to make eating soup more efficient, but something went terribly wrong in the design.
-
Uncontrollable Spoon Deployment: At the worst possible moments, the Auto-Spoon randomly activates and launches a spoon directly into Fizzlebop’s mouth (or nearest face). Roll a d12 every hour:
- 1-3: The spoon harmlessly deploys and retracts ("Ah-ha! Perfect timing!").
- 4-6: The spoon misses its target and harmlessly clatters to the floor ("Hmm. Maybe if I adjust the trajectory...").
- 7-9: The spoon deploys while Fizzlebop is talking, bonking him in the nose and making him stammer.
- 10-11: The spoon launches at high velocity, dealing 1 bludgeoning damage to Fizzlebop or a random nearby creature ("Battle mode engaged!").
- 12: The spoon overheats, forcing Fizzlebop to make a DC 14 Dexterity save or get slapped in the face by rapid-fire spoon deployment (1d4 bludgeoning damage).
-
Soup Sense: If a bowl of soup, stew, or porridge is within 30 feet, the Auto-Spoon vibrates with anticipation and may attempt to launch itself at the meal. (DC 12 Strength check to hold it back.)
-
Emergency Deflection Mode: Once per long rest, if Fizzlebop would be hit by a projectile, the Auto-Spoon instinctively activates—it has a 50% chance of swatting the projectile aside (or just making things worse).
Removing the Curse:
The Auto-Spoon 5000 cannot be removed unless fully disassembled—but every time Fizzlebop tries to do so, he finds a new hidden mechanism that he swears he never installed.
The only known way to permanently disable it? Dunk it in an anti-magic soup.
