Weapon (crossbow, hand), very rare

A hand-crossbow form that has been modified with a clear tank with pure and clean water swirling around inside that is attached by whirring, interconnected gears. It has a two inch nozzle where the crossbow bolt would normally fire out of. The crossbow is painted like sand from a beach (conch seashell on left side, starfish on right) while the wood is carved and painted around the tank like waves crashing upon rocks. The water in the tank is an electric blue.

This magic item can shoot high-pressurized water as an action up to 40 feet in a straight line. If it hits a creature or an object, it only goes as far as that creature or object. The item has six charges. Recharges 1d6 shots at dawn.

Roll a ranged attack against the target. On A hit, a creature takes 2d8 magical bludgeoning damage and must make a Strength Saving Throw of 15. On a failure, the creature gets pushed ten feet back and is knocked prone. This movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity. On a successful save, the creature is not pushed back or knocked prone.

On a hit, the creature or object is now considered wet for 1d4 rounds. A wet creature or object is made vulnerable to lightning damage. A creature or object resistant to lightning damage now takes normal lightning damage for the duration.

If a creature hit by the jet stream is fire-based, they also need to make a constitution saving throw of 15 or lose their fire-based external abilities, such as Heated Body, for the duration of them being wet. This does not affect internal fire-based abilities, such as a dragonborn's fire breath or spells. On a successful save, these abilities remain in affect.

All non-magical flames in the path of the jetstream go out. When all charges are expended, the tank appears empty and ceases to function.

One non-lethal shot can be expended, using one charge, to gently spray a small stream of water out by pressing the trigger instead of holding it. This can be drank for one days worth of hydration.

Proficiency with a Hand Crossbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
