Weapon (longsword), artifact (requires attunement)

A sword and shield that both expand, the sword fits perfectly within the shield, as it is withdrawn the sword expanding with mechanical sounds accompanying it, as soon as it is extracted the sword expands, the sharpened hilt flips forward and steam starts to slowly foam from the pommel, the shield remain inactive though.

When making an attack with the sword you can choose to charge the blade up to 3 times. after which you have a few options:

Discharge: when making an attack you can use a bonus action to discharge the stored energy within the sword, each charge makes the sword do an additional 1D6 Radient Damage.

Store: As an action you can store the energy within the sword into the shield by sheathing it. when doing so the shield expands giving a bonus 2 AC, these charges can be put back into the sword as an action, the Shield can store up to 5 charges 

Overcharge: When attacking with 3 charges if you decide to charge the sword again it will begin to overheat, doing 1d8 fire damage to the user at the start of their turn, if overcharging to 5 the damage goes to 1d12, if overcharging to 6 the damage turns to 2d8 also creating an explosion after 1d4 rounds 15 feet large doing 4d6 fire damage

Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
