Armor (shield), unknown rarity (requires attunement by a Must be a Starforged)

"When the stars themselves fall, the Aegis-Core will still stand — a bastion of cosmic resolve."
The Aegis-Core XS is a marvel of celestial engineering, formed from fragments of ancient starmetal and stabilized by gravitational fields. Its obsidian surface, veined with cracks of pulsating blue light, projects a faint, protective hum. When activated, a thin barrier of refracted light coalesces around the bearer, distorting magic and deflecting physical blows alike. Legends say the shield retains echoes of cosmic guardians, eternally vigilant against forces of entropy.

Special Feature:

  • Aegis Pulse: As a reaction when you are hit by an attack, you may expend a Charge (from your Starforged’s innate Charges) to release a pulse of defensive energy, reducing the damage by 2d10 + your Wisdom Modifier. You can use this a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus per long rest.
  • Spellward Matrix: While wielding the Aegis-Core XS, you have advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects. Additionally, when a creature within 10 feet of you is targeted by a spell attack, you may impose disadvantage on the attack roll as a reaction.
  • Photon Barrier: Once per long rest, you can project a 20-foot diameter barrier of hard light centered on yourself. The barrier grants half cover to creatures within and absorbs up to 50 points of damage before dissipating. It lasts for 1 minute or until destroyed.

Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
