Forged from AEdaxian steel, infused with great magics known only to the master armorers of AEdax, several examples of this excellent plate armor are known to exist. weighing less than half of what standard plate armor weighs, it is many times stronger. The Master Armor Smiths of AEdax combined their steel, forging techniques, and long-forgotten magics to create this armor. Like many AEdaxian artifacts that have been recovered, this armor is reputed to have hidden capabilities. However, aside from the +4 bonuses to AC, and +3 Dexterity checks/saves, and advantage on stealth checks. Of the known recovered examples, most seem to have been adorned with what scholars believe are personal coats of arms and military rank insignia suggesting that it was the armor of a senior commander, or warrior noble. Three recovered examples appear to have been forged for a female warrior, however, the enchantments of the armor will cause the armor to reform itself to fit a medium or small creature of either gender. One example of this armor was rumored to have been found that would fit a large creature.
Plate consists of shaped, interlocking metal plates to cover the entire body. A suit of plate includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and thick layers of padding underneath the armor. Buckles and straps distribute the weight over the body.
