This is a 2' leather thong with a 1" stone with a hole drilled through it tied at each end. As the result of tinkering using the light spell on one of the stones, it consequently gives off bright light for a 5' radius and dim light for a further 5' radius.
It exists until the Artificer who made it makes a new one or something else that uses up their last tinkering slot.
It can be worn tied to a belt, around the head or any other object which the thong can be attached to. It is handy for giving localised light whilst keeping your hands free.
Proficiency with a Sling will enable the user to throw the Lightsling Bolas as if it were a pair of sling bullets, by whirling it around and releasing it towards its target. In addition to any damage it might do if it hits an unwilling target (1D4 +1), it can wrap around a part of the target and get tangled there, illuminating a small area within range.
To avoid the Lightsling Bolas entanglement, the target must make a DC 11 Dex Saving Throw. A fail means that the Lightsling Bolas is entangled on a limb or a piece of their equipment. Success means that it impacted the target but failed to wrap and get entangled.
To remove it requires an action.
The light is permanent but can be hidden by putting the Lightsling Bolas inside a pouch or other opaque container.
Usage note: To make this do the correct damage on the character sheet, edit the custom Damage Bonus to be +1 after equipping it.
Proficiency with a Sling allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
