Ring of the Contract

The Ring of the Contract has the following magical effects:

1. Tracking and One-Way Communication (Upon Acceptance of the Contract)

The ring allows Elminster to track the location of his "employees" anywhere on the Material Plane. While this is largely to ensure their safety (as he tells them), it also prevents dishonesty or abandonment of the contracted task.

At will, Elminster can communicate with wearers of the ring using the project image spell, appearing to them as a three-dimensional, translucent projection. This allows him to give instructions, share warnings, or reprimand the party as needed. However, wearers cannot initiate conversations until a higher level of trust is reached (see 5th-level unlock).

1. Power Word Heal (Unlocked at Level 2)

Once the wearer reaches 2nd level, the ring grants the ability to cast Power Word Heal on themselves once per long rest. This spell instantly restores the wearer to full hit points, cures diseases, neutralizes poisons, and removes debilitating conditions such as blindness, deafness, and paralysis.

1. Light (Unlocked at Level 3)

Upon reaching 3rd level, the wearer can cast the light cantrip at will, shedding magical radiance in dark places. The ring itself becomes the default point of illumination unless the wearer selects another object.

1. Misty Step (Unlocked at Level 4)

At 4th level, the ring allows the wearer to cast Misty Step once per long rest. The magic of teleportation is subtle and smooth, marked by a faint puff of silvery starlight at both departure and destination.

1. Two-Way Communication (Unlocked at Level 5)

Once the wearer reaches 5th level, the ring’s magic expands to allow two-way communication between the wearers and their employer. Players can now initiate mental conversations with Elminster himself, bypassing walls and barriers—though the range is limited to 10 miles for communication between party members.

At this stage, other wearers of the Ring of the Contract can also communicate with each other mentally, regardless of whether Elminster is present or not.

1. Summoning to Elminster (Secret Function, Once per Month)

Notes: Ring of the Contract Wondrous Item, Legendary (requires attunement) Forged by the legendary Arch Mage Elminster Aumar, the Ring of the Contract binds its wearer to magical employment under its creator. The enchanted silver band, polished to a mirror-like shine, appears on the right ring finger of any adventurer who accepts an offer of employment—either verbally or in writing—from Elminster himself. Once donned, the ring cannot be removed until the terms of the contract have been fulfilled, at which point it magically transports itself back to the Arch Mage’s possession. The ring glimmers faintly with arcane energy, its surface etched with intricate runes of communication and transportation. While clearly infused with potent magic, most of its functions are only revealed as the wearer grows more powerful—and more deeply entwined with the role Elminster has assigned to them. Unknown to the wearer, the ring can be used by Elminster once per month to magically summon all ring bearers directly to him, regardless of distance. When activated, the wearers experience a brief sensation of disorientation as the rings teleport them to wherever Elminster currently resides. Elminster often uses this sparingly, either as a fail-safe in emergencies or to issue urgent instructions in person. Limitations and Binding Magic Unremovable: The Ring of the Contract cannot be removed by any non-magical means. Attempts to forcefully sever the bond often result in disappointment, as the ring teleports back to the wearer’s hand moments later. Only the fulfillment of the contract or an explicit dismissal from Elminster himself will cause the ring to vanish. Limited Range for Two-Way Party Communication: While individual party members can communicate with each other using the 5th-level feature, this has a range of 10 miles. However, communication with Elminster has no range limitation as long as he is within the same plane of existence. Final Return: Upon completion of the contract, the ring permanently vanishes from the bearer’s hand, instantly returning to Elminster's possession , When Emplyment is exsepted the persone bestowing the ring says a word of comand with the name of the persone reciving the ring and it appared on the persons hand
