Armor (shield), artifact (requires attunement)

Long ago a group of heroes known as, "The Last Hope" fought Tiamat and her minions to a bloody end. Their leader, a white dragonborn known as Ancalagon, wielded a powerful shield that could withstand the might of a dragon's fury. The shield was lost to time in the depths of the Underdark after "The Last Hope" fell.

Heavy : If a character does not meet the Strength prerequisite, they can still attune to it but suffer disadvantage to all Dexterity checks and saving throws and lose 10 feet of movement. Any character with 16 Strength or higher ignores the disadvantage to Dexterity, but still loses 10ft of movement while wielding Ancalagon's Rite. Any character with 18 Strength or higher does not suffer the speed reduction.

Shield Properties: The shield is 7 feet tall and weighs 60 pounds. This shield provides you with a +2 bonus to AC. When attuned to a creature of Lawful nature, the shield gains an additional +1 bonus to AC. When attuned to a creature of Good nature, the shield gains an additional +1 bonus to AC.

Ancalagon's Rite: As a reaction, when this shield is hit by the breath attack of a dragon, the wielder may call on Ancalagon's aid by speaking his name. The shield will embed itself into the ground directly in front of the wielder, with the wings of the carving expanding an additional 5ft on each side becoming 15ft wide.  All creature covered by the shields new form gain full cover and gain the Evasion feature for any  Dexterity saving throws. The shield stays in this form for 1d3 minutes, at which point it returns to normal size and must be donned again by the wielder.

Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
