Armor (chain mail), very rare (requires attunement by a spending four hours meditating within the Arcanorealm whilst wearing it)

This finely crafted armor is interwoven with shimmering threads of arcane energy, allowing the wearer to manipulate the flow of magic around them.

Spell Redirection. While wearing Aethermail, if an ally casts a spell that targets you, you can use your reaction to redirect the spell to a different target within the spell's range. The new target must be valid for the spell, and the spell behaves as if you were the original caster. The armor has three charges, of which you must use one to use the Spell Redirection ability. You regain all charges at dawn.

Spell Storing. Aethermail can store one spell that has a casting time of 1 action and targets only the caster (self). During a short or long rest, a spellcaster can cast such a spell into the armor, storing it. The wearer can then release the stored spell onto themselves as a bonus action, whilst also burning a charge. While a spell is stored in this way, the Spell Redirection ability is unavailable. The stored spell remains until used or until the next dawn.

Crafting Requirements. To create Aethermail, a character must have proficiency with smith's tools and the Arcana skill. The crafting process requires rare materials worth 5,000 gp and takes 30 days of work.

Made of interlocking metal rings, chain mail includes a layer of quilted fabric worn underneath the mail to prevent chafing and to cushion the impact of blows. The suit includes gauntlets.
