Weapon (sling), unknown rarity

Named after its inventor, Señor Boum, the Boum-Bomb is created via the Alchemist Infusion "Replicate Magic Item".

The alchemist can infuse explosive energy into any non-magical inanimate object, turning it into a Boum-Bomb (patent pending).

The time it take to infuse the item, and the power of the Boum-Bomb is dependent on the size of the item (see table below):

Size Time to infuse Damage (radius)
Tiny (bottle, lock) 1 bonus action 2d6 (5ft)
Small (chest, lute) 1 action 3d6 (5ft)
Medium (barrel, chandelier) 1 round (concentration) 4d6 (10ft)
Large (cart, 10-ft.-by-10-ft. window) 1 minute (concentration) 6d6 (15ft)

Any characters within the radius of the point of explosion must succeed on a DC 12 Dexterity saving throw or take the listed damage and be knocked 5ft back.

The explosion can be triggered in two ways:

  • At the will & touch of the infusing alchemist - the time between trigger and explosion can be up to the alchemist as long as the explosion occurs before the end of their turn in combat.
  • At the touch of a naked flame - in this instance, the explosion happens instantly.

The Boum-Bomb (and the item it was before) is completely destroyed upon detonation.
A Boum-Bomb cannot be un-infused.

For every "Alchemist Infusion" slot that is used for the Boum-Bomb, there can only be one Boum-Bomb infused at any one time, and only four in total between long rests.

Proficiency with a Sling allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
