Posted Aug 24, 2018I can see the discussion now...
DM: You open the chest to find a Mace of Smiting, a scroll of Greater Invisibility, a +2 rapier, and Gloves of Thievery.
Paladin: I'll take the smitey one.
Wizard: I gotta have that scroll.
Thief: I call dibs on the rapier.
Fighter: Say what now?

Posted Jan 12, 2019Incredibly awesome magic item for any rogue-type character with lock-picking skill.
It doesn't requires attainment, gives straight huge bonuses to specialized skills, can't be see and is uncommon! Way over the top!

Posted May 15, 2020I would agree, but you don't even need to attune to them.
You could pocket them and just put them on every time you have something to unlock

Posted Mar 13, 2021Gave these to my player but decided to interpret it literally. When my player puts the gloves on his hands disappear and therefore so do his hands. 🤣

Posted Jan 31, 2022And here I was thinking of having my Artificer learn to make them strictly because they'd keep him warm while leaving his hands visible.

Posted Feb 6, 2022That is not a literal interpretation. Air is invisible, but obviously you can see what is on the other side of it. Did you mean that you interpreted it liberally?

Posted Feb 16, 2022Do anyone got an idea to why this item aren't showing on the inventory list in DnD beyond? It's from the base DMG so it aren't for some campaign or anything... it just don't show as an item it can find?!?

Posted Mar 4, 2022It shows for me. Note that it's part of the DMG, not the free rule set, so you'd need to buy the DMG from DDB first.

Posted Sep 26, 2023Been playing D&D for many many years, and never really felt a Rogue before. I finally decide to lean in to a Swashbuckler, Zorro/Puss in Boots/Inigo Montoya character. I decide to go hard into Sleight of Hands with Expertise RP, the hell out of it... 4th Session in, level 1, we find these I now have a +12 Sleight of Hand. If it isn't nailed down, I am lifting it. LOL

Posted Feb 12, 2025Get some manacles and you can bind anyone easily that is grappled, incapacitated or restrained. Very funny combo.
