Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: New / a few years / veteran Location/Timezone: EST, GMT, GMT+1, GMT+2 Schedule: 8am - 12pm EST | 1pm - 5pm GMT Roles sought: 1 Player Game style: A roleplay heavy campaign that will have everything from classic dungeons, city exploration, traversing around the continent, fighting dragons, encountering fey, and becoming heroes. Like any campaign, there will be intense and serious moments and elements of horror, but there will also be plenty of laughs, jokes, and tomfoolery.
About The Campaign Our adventure opens in the southern town of Trostenwald, a large town nestled in the southernmost point of the Empire. It is the eighth day of the month of Sydenstar, in the year 835 PD. To commemorate the holiday of Highsummer on the 15th, Starosta Fryda Langer has organized a week long celebration full of non-stop festivities! The day is filled with bard song, music, and the cheers of families while the nights are a bit rowdier. The entire town and it's surrounding tillage seem to be present overflowing the bustling streets enjoying the reprieve from the uncertainty and anxiety brought upon by the escalation of War between the Dwendallian Empire and Kryn Dynasty. Campaign direction will be further fleshed out during and after session 0 so that everyone's input can be taken into account. The plot will greatly rely on character backstory and the stories that the players wish to tell.
To make the character feel more like main characters as the campaign progresses I plan to introduce Grim Hollow's Transformations to each character as we progress. Each player will pick a transformation during character creation/backstory writing that you wish to work towards so that I can include your steps towards becoming something greater into your story. I am also open to working with players to create a custom transformation if none quite fit.
About Me As A DM My name is Hannah (she/her) and I've been playing D&D5e for about 5 years. I have experience with PF2e, Call of Cthulhu, Mutants and Masterminds, Eclipse Phase, and just about every 5e conversion out there.
I live by rule of cool and always encourage players to explore creative solutions to the challenges put before them. I am more than happy to work with players to make adjustments in the name of both balance and fun to existing classed, subclasses, backgrounds, and whatever else to make things more fun and satisfying for players. All within reason of course. All that being said, I do prefer to keep away from fully homebrew subclasses and instead tweak existing.
Table Basics - Fluent in english - Computer able to run Foundry - Discord- (Optional but encouraged) The rest of the table will be using cams for the game, you don't need to jump right into it when you are just getting to know everyone else but it is something I hope that you would be open to.
What's the tooltip for leatherworker's tools? I keep trying but all it gives me is leatherworker's tools . To be clear, I tried doing the tooltip there with $item$leatherworker's tools$/item$ but replace $ with [ and ].
Mystic Arcanum doesn't seem to pick up homebrew spells added to the warlock spell list for me, so 6th-9th level homebrew spells can't really be added to warlocks. Am I doing something wrong here? If this is unfixable, is there a manual fix to just stitch the spell onto the warlock manually?
Don't know how helpful this is, but the relevant character sheet I'm trying to do this for: ddb.ac/characters/43807405/6dUDTQ
Hey, I'm having trouble with this feature I'm trying to implement. It should provide an additional 1d6 + half Monk level damage when you hit a prone enemy. For the snippet, I typed out 1d6{{ (classlevel / 2) @rounddown }} (obviously without the spaces). On the sheet (https://ddb.ac/characters/49688351/imLItB), it keeps coming out as "1d6 (classlevel/2@rounddown - Mismatching parenthesis". Tried troubleshooting for ages but no dice. What am I missing here?
it now works. you can't change beast option from the character sheet screen, but you can now find your primal companion's stat block, calculated ac, and calculated, adjustable hp under the "features and traits" screen, as well as part of your bonus action options.
I can update this thread. The Primal Beast is available! Turn it on through optional class features, and its HP will show up in your features (both through the bonus actions and the regular feature sheet). Click on it for details and you can see the stat block. Thread done! You have to change it through the 'edit' page, but it's all good!
Favored Foe doesn't replace Favored Enemy at level 6 and level 14 (which I don't think is how it's supposed to work)
I believe it is because the Ranger level 20 feature relies on Favored enemy.
I never noticed, but RAW, yeah, it does. That's a huge oversight-- so if Favored Foe works the way its supposed to, ranger capstone means nothing? Wild.
Additionally, when using the Ranger Optional Class Features, Favored Foe doesn't replace Favored Enemy at level 6 and level 14 (which I don't think is how it's supposed to work), and you only gain the level 1 Deft Explorer benefit, not the Level 6 and 11 ones. Will this be fixed anytime soon?
Edit: also, on the character sheet version of a 6th level ranger I made, which is when the damage should scale to 1d6, the only thing it says is "scalevalue - No level scale data available", highlighted in red. Will add things as I discover them.
EDIT 2: Many people have brought this up this exact issue on the Tasha's support thread, and I'm sifting through it now to check if there's any mod response.
EDIT 3: As of November 19th, there is now an option under favoured foe that gives you three identical options for replacing favoured foe with, which correspond to the 3 levels of favoured enemy. now you can pick to replace either the level 1, 6, or 14 features-- but the other two will still be there, making this point moot. I've been testing on both new and adjusted character, and the problem carries over.

Okay, in a classic case of problem-fixes-itself-the-minute-you-ask-for-help, that thing I just said happened. Nevermind.

The Very Rare Barrier Tattoo still includes a negative AC bonus when calculating AC. There's a manual fix, but you still have to fix it.

I've been keeping an eye on that too. Just thought I'd help OP out by posting updates on specific updates.
