Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online (D&DB, R20, Discord) Experience: New Location/Timezone: -8GMT (PST) Availability: Thursday all day Friday7:30AM-12:00AM and sat 7AM-4:30PM Preferred role: Player Game style: I would prefer a well balanced game but I'm not picky. I think I might like a DM that doesn't pull punches in combat but knows how to let some of those "cool" actions slide when they create epic moments. I intend to heavily RP whatever characters I create that includes during character creation. I rarely make meta choices if there are other build choices that seem thematically obvious. This could result in a "sub-optimal" character but I believe I have a firm enough grasp of game mechanics in order to effectively aid the party in at least two of the three pillars of game play regardless of my build.
Extras: I own all source books on D&DB and have a subscription account on D&DB and Pro on R20(but no content)
Level 1 Human Variant Rogue with the City Watch/Investigator background. I was really inspired with the choices of skills and character details to make a video outlying my choices and RP ideas/decisions. Enjoy if you're interested in this sort of thing.
I feel like you are looking at this from the wrong end. Follow the rules and when people in towns start refusing players services, running them out of town, outright attacking them, blaming them for local evil occurrences etc. and finally when the army of paladins comes to vanquish the evil wizard they might rethink their strategy a bit. The PC's are essentially walking around with and utilizing an army of humanoids who have their undying souls forcible tethered to this plane in a desiccated corpse by unholy magics. That type of behavior goes against most peoples morals in "polite society", tends to get noticed and word gets around.
Not to get a little Aq Inc here as well but having an army of zombies sounds like a logistical nightmare and the financial overhead to transport hordes of zombies alone is enough to deter most savvy business' from employing them since it more then offsets the "free labor" component. (I imagine a very very steep overhead fee for transportation costs, cleanup etc.) Also, "gross."
TLDR
Army of zombies protecting your wizard tower? Cool!
Army of zombies walking around the sword coast? Cool!
