Regeneration. The Mimic regains 5 hit points at the start of its turn if it has at least 1 hit point. If the Mimic takes acid, fire, or radiant damage, this trait doesn’t function at the start of the Mimic's next turn. The Mimic is destroyed only if it starts its turn with 0 hit points and doesn’t regenerate.
Larva. If the Mimic is targeted by an effect that cures disease or removes a curse, all the Larvae infesting it wither away, and it loses its Burrowing Larva action.
Shapechanger. The mimic can use its action to polymorph into an object or back into its true form. Its statistics are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.
Multiattack. The Mimic makes one attack with its Bite and uses Burrowing Larva.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) piercing damage plus 7 (2d6) necrotic damage.
Burrowing Larva. A Larva launches from the Mimic at one humanoid that the Mimic can see within 10 feet of it. The worm latches onto the target’s skin unless the target succeeds on a DC 11 Dexterity saving throw. The Larva is a Tiny undead with AC 6, 1 hit point, a 2 (−4) in every ability score, and a speed of 1 foot. While on the target’s skin, the larva can be killed by normal means or scraped off using an action (the Mimic can use this action to launch a scraped-off larva at a humanoid it can see within 10 feet of the larva). Otherwise, the larva burrows under the target’s skin at the end of the target’s next turn, dealing 1 piercing damage to it. At the end of each of its turns thereafter, the target takes 7 (2d6) necrotic damage per larva infesting it (maximum of 10d6). A larva-infested target dies if it drops to 0 hit points, then rises 10 minutes later bursting with more Mimics.
This Mimic loves to blend in with other health potions so that others will unknowingly try to drink them, when being drunk while in disguise the Mimic will release a fluid that is similar, but not exact, in taste to most health potions but will also release many of their larva in this solution, the larva will then stick and burrow into the skin start to drain the blood of their victim till they are fully grown which usually results in the death of the victim.
Description
This Mimic will match the look of any potion near it to blend, it will even drink one of the potions to make the liquid it spews will taste similar to the potions around it so that it can be more well disguised. Older and more powerful versions of these creatures will often have a golden shimmer usually a side effect of drinking so many different kinds of potions.
Lair and Lair Actions
Lairs are usually created when generations of these mimics are created and group together and blend together, the Mimics will only attack if discovered in its true from, often the lair is a small area where the mimics feel comfortable to be in there true forms and only hide when startled.
Interesting and quite evil. I'm curious to know why the large are classified as undead. A mimic is normally considered a "monstrosity". Also, I'd think that this creature in of itself would be tiny rather than small. Small is still a 5' facing and this is supposed to be the size of a potion, I'd assume. Overall, very inventive and again, very evil.
that is a fault on my part i am basing this off another creature that was undead
