Description
Despite being the weakest of the Undying Plague's creations, Undying Ghouls are a force to be reckoned with. Often found in groups, these near-mindless undead can often overwhelm even the most skilled of adventurers.
The First of Many. When the Undying Plague was initially unleashed upon Faerûn, the Undying Ghouls were the first to appear. Appearing in small numbers, often as individuals, the Undying Ghouls were the reanimated corpses of the first to die during these times.
Common Undying. Undying Ghouls are the most common created Undying in the event of someone's death. Those who die from natural causes are almost always resurrected as a Ghoul if they die within an area under the Plague's influence.
Undying Appearance. Due to the unique mutation of the Plague, a Ghoul's bones have grown in both size and thickness. As such, their muscles have been reinforced, with portions of bone even pushing through in their elbows, collar bones, hands, and feet, giving them a natural armor beyond that of more common undead. In addition the Undying Ghoul's skin remains in a flesh-like colour for a long time, allowing for an easy differentiation from a normal Ghoul.
Terror Infantry. Thanks to their abundance, Undying Ghouls make up a large portion of a Terror's personal army. Often filling out their bastions in large numbers, Undying Ghouls are a particular favourite of the Terrors, thanks to their speedy regeneration when compared to other Undying.
