Special Traits

Legendary Resistance (4/Day). If the dragon fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.

Skeleton Minions (5/Long Rest). Wrath of the Innocent dispenses five Skeleton Minions to attack the target of the construct. Each Skeleton has AC:15, HP: 10, Hit: +3, and Damage 1d6+5 slashing.

Penance Stare. An ability that incapacitates the target and sucks their soul from their body and trapping it forever within the construct's body before devouring the body of the target.

Kill Condition. Construct must be killed by its target. Under no circumstances can the construct be killed by anyone other than its target.

Actions

Multiattack. The dragon can use its Frightful Presence. It then makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (2d10 + 8) piercing damage plus 7 (2d6) fire damage.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d6 + 8) slashing damage.

Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (2d8 + 8) bludgeoning damage.

Frightful Presence. Each creature of the dragon's choice that is within 120 feet of the dragon and aware of it must succeed on a DC 21 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the dragon's Frightful Presence for the next 24 hours.

Death Breath (Recharge 5–6). The dragon construct exhales a mixture of bodily gases and fumes that are expelled from rotting corpses in a 60-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 21 Constitution saving throw, taking 63 (12d6) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Legendary Actions

The dragon construct can take 5 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The dragon regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Detect. The dragon makes a Wisdom (Perception) check.

Wing Attack (Costs 2 Actions). The dragon beats its wings. Each creature within 10 feet of the dragon must succeed on a DC 22 Dexterity saving throw or take 15 (2d6 + 8) bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone. The dragon can then fly up to half its flying speed.

Cry of the Innocent.  The skulls, who are the fallen victims of Wrath of the Innocent and also line the neck and rib cage of the construct, turn and cry out for mercy from their killer and beg to not be killed. The target must make a DC 22 Wisdom saving throw or be stricken with grief. If the save is not made the target must roll all attacks, checks, and saving throws at disadvantage and continues to do so until the save is made at the beginning of the target's turn.

Description

The wrath of the innocent, who has a skeletal and fleshy body, smells of death and the aura surrounding the dragon construct causes its target, and target only,  to feel nauseous and sick.

On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), the dragon takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; the dragon can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:

  • .

Regional Effects

The region containing a legendary red dragon’s lair is warped by the dragon’s magic, which creates one or more of the following effects:

  • Rib Cages of all sizes are common within 6 miles of the dragon’s lair.
  • Water sources within 1 mile of the lair contain dead animals and smell of death.

If the dragon dies, these effects fade over the course of 1d10 days.
