Traits

Keen Sight. The undead valravn has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.

Pack Tactics. The undead valravn has advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at least one other undead valravn is within 5 ft. of the creature and the undead valravn isn't incapacitated.

Mimicry. The undead valravn can mimic sounds it has heard and even phrases. They may mimic a person screaming for help or a baby's cries to lure victims into a trap. A creature that hears the sounds can tell they are imitations with a successful DC 12 Wisdom (Insight) check.

Undead Fortitude. If damage reduces the undead valravn to 0 hit points, it must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5 + the damage taken, unless the damage is radiant or from a critical hit. On a success, the undead valravn drops to 1 hit point instead.

Undead Nature. The undead valravn doesn't require air, food, drink, or sleep.

Actions

Multiattack. The undead valravn makes two attacks: one with its beak and one with its claws.

Beak. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) piercing damage.

Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6 + 4) slashing damage.

Description

A valravn is a cunning avian carnivore with the muscular, black-furred body of a wolf and the head, forelegs, and wings of a raven. They are intelligent pack hunters, usually travelling in small groups (1d6+2).

Valravn's will often follow and attempt to steal or scavenge the prey of other monsters and descend upon the battlefields to feed upon the dead and dying.

When raised from the dead valravn no longer require food but continue to follow their instinct to hunt and kill. Some necromancers use undead valravn as flying mounts.
