Inscrutable. Xa'Til is immune to any effect that would sense its emotions or read its thoughts, as well as any divination spell that it refuses. Wisdom (Insight) checks made to ascertain the Xa'Til's intentions or sincerity have disadvantage.
Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If Xa'Til fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.
Consume Life (2/Day). Xa'Til deals 8d4 necrotic damage to all creatures within 60ft of him and gain life equal to half the damage dealt. (has no effect on undead or constucts)
Magic Weapons. Xa'Til's weapon attacks are magical.
Spellcasting. Xa'Til is a 20th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 18, +10 to hit with spell attacks). It requires no material components to cast its spells. Xa'Til has the following cleric spells prepared:
Cantrips (at will): toll the dead, spare the dying, chill touch
1st level (4 slots): command, detect evil and good, detect magic, cause fear, inflict wounds, shield
2nd level (3 slots): lesser restoration, zone of truth
3rd level (3 slots): animate dead, tongues, counterspell,
4th level (3 slots): banishment, blight, shadow of moil
5th level (3 slots): flame strike, danse macabre, enervation, contagion
6th level (2 slots): create undead, harm, globe of invulnerability
7th level (2 slots): finger of death, temple of the gods, whirlwind
8th level (2 slot): clone, abi-dalzim's horrid wilting, feeblemind, maze
9th level (1 slot): psychic scream, time stop
Turn Resistance. Xa'Til has advantage on saving throws against any effect that turns undead.
Multiattack. Xa'Til makes two claw attacks.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (2d10 + 6) Necrotic damage.
Wand Blast. Ranged weapon attack: +12 to hit, reach 40 ft., one target. Hit: 20 (3d8+6) Cold damage.
Death Grip. one creature of Xa'Til's choice within 60 ft of him must make wisdom saving throw or me moved 30ft in any direction Xa'Til choses.
Xa'Til can take 4 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. Xa'Til regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.
Claw Attack. Xa'Til makes one claw attack.
Teleport (Costs 2 Actions). Xa'Til magically teleports, along with any equipment it is wearing or carrying, up to 120 feet to an unoccupied space it can see.
Cast a Spell (Costs 3 Actions). Xa'Til casts a spell from its list of prepared spells, using a spell slot as normal.
