Spider Climb. The xenomorph queen can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.

Actions

Multiattack. The xenomorph queen makes four attacks, two claw melee weapon attacks, one with striking jaw bite melee weapon attacks and one with tail impale melee weapon attack.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 18 (3d8 + 4) slashing damage.

Striking Jaw Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (4d4 + 4) piercing damage plus 9 (2d8) acid damage

Tail Impale. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 10 ft. Hit: 15 (3d6 + 4) piercing damage and if the target is a creature, it is grappled (escape DC 16 Strength saving throw). Until this grapple ends, the target takes 14 (3d8) piercing damage at the start of each of its turns. The xenomorph queen can grapple only one creature at a time.

Reactions

Acid Blood. When the xenomorph takes bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing damage, each creature within 5 feet of the alien takes 9 (2d8) acid damage.

Description

The prime and apex form of a xenomorph is the xenomorph queen; much larger, faster and much more coordinated than drones, the xenomorph queen helps spawn the next generation of xenomorph colonies by laying facehuggers eggs. While she typically command drones to watch over her, the eggs and the nest, a xenomorph queen is not hesitant to viciously rip apart any threats that enter the range of her tail, claws and striking jaw.

When a colony of xenomorphs loses a xenomorph queen, the oldest xenomorph drone amongst them undergoes intense hormone development and metamorphosis. The lack of the "royal hormones" that a xenomorph queen normally produces when she begins to nest and lay eggs is detected on a genetic level by the old xenomorph drone and "she" begin to cocoons and evolved into the colony's next queen.
