Deconstruct. The Xepholog can use its Deconstruct feature as an action to split apart into smaller beings to reform somewhere of their choosing within 30 feet on its next turn, they don’t have to reconstruct. The amount of Deconstructed is dictated by how many formed the Constructed initially. There is a minimum of 3 Xephologi to create a Constructed, there is a maximum of 6. When the Xepholog is deconstructed, the smaller beings evenly distribute the remaining hit points between themselves. Their armor class increases by 2.
Burrow. The Xepholog is capable of moving with great speed while burrowing. It can use its movement on its turn to move 30 feet in the ground in either its Constructed or Deconstructed form.
Inseminate. Three times per week, the Xepholog can reproduce within the body of a carbon based host, by means of its Abhorrent Needle. Each insemination produces three deconstructed Xephologi.
Self Destruct. The Xepholog if overwhelmed, instead of being killed by its enemy, it will explode in a fiery blast. Anyone within a 20 foot radius makes a DC15 Dexterity Saving Throw. On a fail, they will take 6d8 fire damage. On a success, they will take half as much.
In Constructed form
Multi Attack. The Xepholog can make 3 attacks with it’s Abhorrent Needle, or two attacks with its Molten Spout.
Abhorrent Needle. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., Each needle hits one target. Hit: 10 (2d8 + 4) [Piercing] damage.
Molten Spout. Ranged Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, range 30/60 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d8 + 4) [fire] damage.
In Deconstructed form
Single Attack. The deconstructed Xephologi can make 1 attack with it’s Abhorrent Needle,
Abhorrent Needle. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., Each needle hits one target. Hit: 10 (2d8) [Piercing] damage.
Sulfurous Aura. Sulfurous Aura can be used in either Constructed or Deconstructed form. A foul stench emits from the creature in a 20 foot radius. Each creature in range makes a constitution saving throw of DC15. A failure renders the victim incapacitated until the end of their next turn.
The Xepholog in either form can use its bonus action to heal 4d4+4.
Description
The Xepholog is a shape shifting being of nightmares. It is an otherworldly being, forged with the darkest of intent; to inseminate, to expand, to thrive, and to conquer. Its physical attributes are confusing to behold, the black and dark red ferro-fluid like body and ever undulating spines, varying in length, ready to impale the next unfortunate victim. The spines are used for walking, burrowing, combat, and expanding its reach around the world. The Xepholog can split into multiple, smaller Xephologi, giving it an edge on the battlefield. It is also a being of fire, able to spout molten lava at its enemies, even self destructing if things aren't going its way.
