Pit of bones. The Abominable Skullker assembles his body from the collected bones of his victim's wich hey collects in a pit. To surprise enemies, he waits until a creature entered his pit of bones and emerges to kill his prey.

Skeletal spawn. On each turn de Abominable Skullker summons 1d4 Skeletons with the modification that each only has 1d4 health. Every HP point of the skeletons is deducted from the current HP of the Abominable Skullker. The Skeletons can emerge from anywhere as long as it within the Pit of bones.

Pit shift. As long as the Abominable Skullker remains in the Pit of Bones, it can use its movement to disassemble at one place in the pit and reassemble in another place in the pit. This movement would not provoke opportunity attacks.

Hitting the floor. If the loose bones in the pit are targeted specifically the bones take half damage (AC 9). AOE spell effects treat the pit and the Skullker as one unit. This means the Skullker only takes damage 1-time per AOE.

Description

The Abominable Skullker hides in dark caves. They prefer small rooms up to 40 feet wich they cover in a layer of bones from their enemies. They disassemble their bodies and hide in the pit of bones. When they emerge the bones assemble in the shape of a large monstrosity. Any damage to the Skullker destroys the bones its made of. The broken bones are then replenished from bones in the pit. The total HP of the Abominable Skullker represents all the bones in the pit. If the Skullker where to be destroyed, almost all the bones in the pit would be splintered or broken. The Skullker never leaves his pit on his own will as doing so would prevent him from spawning Skeletons.

Lair and Lair Actions

Difficult terrain. The pit of bones is considered difficult terrain. This does not apply to skeletons or the Abominable Skullker.
