Trample. Any time the Wampus moves through a space occupied by another creature of equal or smaller size, that creature must succeed a Dexterity Save of 20 or be trampled. A trampled creature is knocked prone, takes 1d8 bludgeoning damage, and any creatures that witness the trample are Frightened for 1d6 turns.

Raining Pain. The Wampus has advantage on all attack rolls made against prone targets.

Impervious Shadow. The Wampus takes half damage from prone targets, and deals double damage to them.

Waking Nightmare. If the Wampus is woken from its sleep it takes no damage from attacks for the first 2 rounds of combat, moves at double normal speed, and cannot be put back to sleep.

Legendary Actions

Crippling Blow. After being struck with a melee attack, the Wampus may swing out with its nearest free paw dealing 1d10 + 11 bludgeoning to the attacker, this attack never misses. If the attack does 16 or more damage, the target is Paralyzed and Frightened. Recharges on 5-6.

Description

A quadrupedal nightmare with a face full of sword-like teeth and a magical bite. Covered in sparse white hair and and armored skin. The Wampus has complex compound eyes that allow it to see in the dark and immunity to poison and necrotic damage suiting its natural environments of dank, filthy caves or dungeons.

An aggressive, predatory animal that enjoys hunting and killing, and will do so even when not threatened or hungry.

A Wampus emits a pheromone that causes most Fey and natural animals to flee. The hair, skin, and blood of the Wampus are saturated in this chemical and the effect lasts even weeks after it has been removed from the living creature. The Pheromone is odorless.

Lair and Lair Actions

Mama Bear. If the Wampus is a female and within 1000 feet of its nest, it can make twice as many attacks per turn, and it's Bite and Paw Swipe reach are increased by 5 ft.
