In celebration of the Season of Horror for Dungeons & Dragons, D&D in a Castle will host four exclusive Ravenloft campaigns during its Summer events.
Set in an atmospheric castle venue and guided by world-class Dungeon Masters, these campaigns will draw directly from the upcoming sourcebook Ravenloft: The Horrors Within, giving players a rare chance to experience new Ravenloft lore, monsters, and mysteries before the wider community. For 4 days, players can play new subclasses, use Dark Gifts, and play unique species in the setting of Ravenloft in a perfect castle setting.
For fans of gothic horror and high-stakes storytelling, this is a rare invitation to walk the mist-shrouded roads of the Domains of Dread. Read on to learn how you can participate!

A Weekend in the Mists

D&D in a Castle is known for its world-class, immersive D&D experiences that combine expert Dungeon Masters, passionate players, and unforgettable campaigns. During this special event, the creeping Mists of Ravenloft will roll into the castle grounds, transforming the weekend into a celebration of dread, suspense, and heroic defiance against the encroaching darkness.
Choose Your Fate
Players will choose between four premiere campaigns, each offering a distinct style of horror and a unique journey through the dark corners of the Ravenloft setting.
Whether players prefer unraveling unsettling mysteries or confronting legendary villains head-on, there is a place for them in the Mists.
Horror in Ohio

Players can choose between two campaigns at the Mohican Castle in Loudonville, Ohio taking place July 5-9, 2026.
The first campaign is led by Makenzie De Armas, senior designer for Dungeons & Dragons at Wizards of the Coast and a contributing author to Ravenloft: The Horrors Within. This adventure plunges characters into a fog-choked coastal settlement where something sinister stirs beneath the crashing waves.
If you prefer your horror epic and high-level, the second campaign offers a different kind of nightmare. Guided by B. Dave Walters, Dungeon Master of Black Dice Society and a longtime DM within the Ravenloft setting, this high-level adventure throws experienced heroes directly into the path of some of Ravenloft’s most infamous rulers.
Fear Reigns in the UK

Across the Atlantic, D&D in a Castle is also featuring two campaigns at Walworth Castle in Darlington, UK this Summer.
The first campaign is led by Dicecream Sandwich, a prominent content creator and vibrant storyteller. This campaign brings a light twist to the eternal shadows. Players have the choice of joining Kevin’s campaign for either Summer UK event (August 11-15 or August 16-20).
Or players can join Liv Kennedy, one third of the 3 Black Halflings podcast and a lover of chaos, alongside her quest to explore the dark realms of Ravenloft. This campaign will be held during the second Summer UK round, August 16-20.
Be Among the First to Face The Horrors Within

All campaigns draw inspiration, creatures, and lore from Ravenloft: The Horrors Within, the new Ravenloft sourcebook arriving this summer. That means players attending these D&D in a Castle campaigns will experience elements of the book before many others have even opened its pages.
It’s an opportunity to step into brand-new Ravenloft stories guided by some of the creators shaping the setting itself.
Which Path Will You Choose?
Four campaigns. Four Dungeon Masters. Two castles.
Whether you’re drawn to creeping eldritch horror or epic battles against legendary Dark Lords, the only question is which nightmare you’ll choose to face.
This Summer, the Mists are calling…and the castle gates are open.

Posted Apr 23, 2026Why Ohio and not somewhere like NYC or LA? Ohio seems like a random location and not that many people live there when compared to a major city in the United States.

Posted Apr 26, 2026Instead of charging $3,400 for an event (plus travel costs for everyone not living within commuting distance), which pretty much relegates these events to the well off, why don't they run it as a lottery system where you buy a chance at an all inclusive event?

Posted Apr 28, 2026Yay! A vacation for the ultra elite or those with enough disposable income! (OR the poor suckers who decide ruining your finances is acceptable for a little D&D).

Posted May 1, 2026Gen Con is amazing. Many other conventions also offer great experiences at low costs. Living in a Castle for a few days of gaming is a unique and expensive experience. Especially considering the cost of hiring a celebrity GM.
