Arelitou are considered adults at the age of 30 and can expect to live to an age of around 300 years. When they are born, they are an amorphous mass of playfulness that stays near their parents. As they approach the age of 10, they develop a second, humanoid form.

Arelitou live in large villages and value their community. While any alignment is possible, they gravitate towards lawful and good.

Arelitou spend their lives in vast underground cavern systems giving them superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

As an action, you transform along with everything you're wearing and carrying, into an amorphous ooze for up to 10 minutes. The effect ends if you drop to 0 hit points. You may use this ability once between long rests.

In this form, you can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing. You can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check. However, using weapons without the light property or equipment heavier than 2 pounds is at a disadvantage.

Arelitou may envelop objects, storing them in voids within their bodies. These pockets can store a wide variety materials provided they easily fit within the selected part of the body. The pockets can hold solid, liquid or gaseous matter. Items can be sharp such as a dagger. The membrane of the pocket keeps the contents safely isolated. Arelitou eat by releasing enzymes into the particular pocket they wish to consume. They are able to slowly move pockets around their bodies. They can have a number of pockets equal to their proficiency bonus and each can contain up to 2 pounds of material.

The Arelitou lack distinct organs. Any features they have, such as eyes, are simulated and purely cosmetic. With no vulnerable points, they are exceptionally sturdy. You have advantage on hit die rolls to gain or recover hit points.

Arelitou can speak, read, and write Common and Areli. Their mouths can form diverse structures letting them make a wider variety of sounds that other humanoids. They have a deep love of song and story.
