Homebrew Aasiling Species Details
Aasiling are the rare result of two human bloodlines combining, one in contract to a fiend and the other that is called upon by a celestial agent. Aasling are brought into the world to keep balance, neither an ally to Aasimar or Tieflings by nature. Due to their conflicting origins of powers, Aasling are always sterile and usually stay isolated from other races. Like their Aasimar cousins, Aasling receive visions and guidance from celestial entities via dreams, but are also haunted by fiends' desires during their nightmares. Blessed and cursed, Aasiling have an innate need to keep their surroundings in equilibrium, while balancing their own internal unstable energy.
Aasiling are commonly confused for a Tiefling based on their physical appearance and carry with them the same mistrust from other races. Aasiling have smaller horns than Tieflings, but still take a variety of shapes. On their backs, just below each shoulders are two small tufts of white, red, or gold "protofeathers". They also have thick tails, four to five feet long that end in a corresponding tuft of protofeathers. Their tail can lash or coil around their legs based on their emotional state. Their canine teeth are sharply pointed, and their eyes are solid colors—black, light blue, white, silver, or gold—with no visible sclera or pupil. Their skin tones cover the full range of human coloration but have hints of gold, light red, or silvery hues. Their hair, cascading down from behind their horns, is usually dark, from black or brown to dark red, blue, or white. In low light, Aasilings' eyes give off a low glow depending on their eyes color.
Heavy Shoulders of Dualistic Voices: Aasiling are connected to angelic and fiendish voices of the higher planes through their horns. The Aasiling have no control over who speaks to them and are often tempted to act in favor of the beings speaking to them. Due to the conflicting nature of these higher beings, some Aasiling destroy their horns to keep the voices away or lose themselves to being a servant to the voices and having no individuality. If an Aasiling can maintain themselves and "filter" the voices, they may become a benefit to them.

The small tufts of feathers on your back also grow into full-fledge wings and you gain a flying speed equal to 30. As an action you can wrap your wings around a creature medium or smaller within 10 feet of you. At the end of the turn, your built up energy is discharged and all creatures within 15 feet (excluding you) take radiant damage equal to half your level (rounded up).
Burn Away: If you used your action to wrap your wings around a creature, at the end of the turn, your wings become hellfire ash and you deal extra fire damage to that creature. The extra fire equals 2d10 + your level.
Once you use this trait, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
