Cell 114 is the name given to an elusive and secretive species that take the appearance of other races and inject sleeper agents into societies to collect information and transmit it back to Cell Command. Many civilizations do not know about their existence, and those that are made aware do not usually live to tell the tale as Cell Command uses the collected information from it's sleeper agents to quickly and effectively paralyze their target city or country, extract it's resources and destroy those who survive slave labour. The githyanki name for Cell 114 in Tir'su, "Kanshikan" translates to liar or deciever. The fact that they have a name for them indicates a possible origin to the elusive species as the Astral Plane.
Cell 114's power over their appearance and integration of magic into their own bodies makes them elusive and dangerous, with their common strategy being placing agents of theirs into deep cover as a sleeper agent in a city or civilization they want to conquer, sending at first a singular scout. The scout's mission is the advance guard, to assimilate basic knowledge, language, culture and commerce of the place as well as geographical information, before more sleepers are sent in depending on the scout's report, which is used to assess the potential value and weaknesses of their target.
The cover is so deep, that the indivdual genuinely believes themselves to be a member of the disguised species with false memories, they live their lives for years or decades until activated by Cell Command, at which point the cover personality drops and their true personality re-asserts itself, a cold, calculating stealth operative with the single goal of completing Cell Command's latest mission, at any and all costs.
Cell 114 Traits
Deep Cover, Biomagical Implant, Organic WeaponAbility Score Improvement
You gain a +2 to your Dexterity and a +1 to either Wisdom, Intelligence or Charisma.
Age
Members of Cell 114 are endowed with unnaturally long life, being able to function for centuries if required under deep cover. Cell 114 usually lives for 1000 years naturally and reach physical maturity at age 21.
Size
Your height and weight heavily depend on the race you're impersonating. Your size is Small or Medium.
Alignment
Members of Cell 114 can be of any Alignment while under Deep Cover, but their true nature is Lawful Evil as they are dedicated to serving Cell Command and forwarding it's aims and objectives to conquer and control resources.
Languages
You know Common, Cellibassan (Native Language of Cell 114, it appears to be mathematical in nature) and one language you and the DM decide your character would know to infiltrate a society better.
Deep Cover
Shapechanger. An ability stolen from the Changelings to better allow Sleeper Operatives to infiltrate other races without extensive surgical modification. As an action, you can change your appearance and your voice. You determine the specifics of the changes, including your coloration, hair length, and sex. You can also adjust your height and weight, but not so much that your size changes. You can make yourself appear as a member of another race, though none of your game statistics change. You can't duplicate the appearance of a creature you've never seen, and you must adopt a form that has the same basic arrangement of limbs that you have. Your clothing and equipment aren't changed by this trait.
- You stay in the new form until you use an action to revert to your true form or until you die.
Deep Persona. Your power to convince others as your I'mshada is potent, you know how to manipulate those around you into believing you're real. While impersonating a race, you can add twice your proficiency bonus to ability checks made to pass as a member of that race.
Enhanced Interrogation. You learned how to use dangerous techniques to extract information from most, temporarily revealing a hint of your real nature. You can make an unarmed strike against a creature. You do not inflict any damage, but add twice your proficiency bonus to any Intimidation Checks you make against that creature for 1 minute.
Operative Training. Even as your I'mshada, you know how to move quietly when required. If you make a Stealth Check, you can use your reaction to give yourself advantage on the roll as you draw slightly upon your training as an Entiri (The True Self of the Agent in Cellibassan). You cannot use this feature again until you finish a Short Rest, as further intrusion into the Entiri could risk your cover.
Organic Weapon
As a bonus action, you can shift your arm into a blade, assassinating those who least expect it. The blade uses your Dexterity Modifier for attack rolls made with it and it deals 1d8 Piercing Damage + your Dexterity mod on a hit, and has the finesse property.
Biomagical Implant
You can activate your implant as a free action to use any of it's abilities listed here. When you do, the underside of your character's forearm becomes hard and gnarled like a coral formation with circular protusion and glowing orbs of light underneath the skin which are touched. While your implant is active, unless you make a Stealth Check, you have dsiadvantage on checks made to impersonate a race successfully.
You can cast the Cantrip Message at will. It does not require somatic or material components.
You can produce 1 shell-like construct from your implant out of your own skin known as a "organic detonator", it is the size of a gold coin and can be planted on creatures. As a bonus action, you can detonate the construct to inflict 1d8 fire and 1d8 force damage as it explodes to all creatures in a 10 foot sphere, the damage is treated as magical for the sake of overcoming resistances. You cannot use this ability again until you finish a Short Rest as creating an organic detonator uses vital magic and mineral resources from your implant which take time to regenerate.
