Homebrew Draconic Inheritor Species Details

I saw her, wreathed in wings of scales and fire, her eyes blazing with the fury of a dragon. The bone devils stopped in their tracks, shielding their faces. Her blade, now a brand of fire, swept once, twice, three times. The devils’ heads hit the ground, one after another. And thus we learned that an Draconic Inheritor traveled in our ragtag band.

Draconic Inheritors bear within their souls the fire of the dragons. They are descended from humans with a touch of dragon blood in their veins. Draconic Inheritors are born to serve as champions of the dragons, their births hailed as blessed events. They are a people of draconic visages, with scaled and horned features that reveal their draconic heritage.

Draconic Champions

Draconic Inheritors are placed in the world to serve as guardians of a dragons layer. Their believes expect them to strike at evil and introtuders, lead by example, and further the cause of justice. On the rare occasion of the dragons death or the abduction of the Draconic Inheritor, one might pursue a different path.

Hidden Wanderers

While Draconic Inheritor are confident in their strenght, they typically prefer to keep a low profile. Scales, horns, as well as the unusual eyes draws the attention of fanatics, fiends, and other enemies, all of whom would be eager to strike down a Draconic Inheritor if they had the chance since the horns and eyes are a rare occurance.

When traveling, they prefer hoods, closed helms, and other gear that allows them to conceal their identities. They nevertheless have no compunction about striking openly at enemies. The secrecy they desire is never worth endangering the innocent.

Conflicted Souls

Despite its draconic origin, a draconic inheritor is mortal and possesses free will. Most draconic inheritor follow their ordained path, but some grow to see their abilities as a curse. These disaffected draconic inheritor are typically content to turn away from the world, but a few become agents of evil. In their minds, their exposure to celestial powers amounted to little more than brainwashing.

Evil draconic inheritor make deadly foes. The fire power they once commanded becomes corrupted into a horrid, draining magic. And their draconic guides abandon them.
