Homebrew Wizard Species Details

Muggles have named us many things. Sorcerers, warlocks, devils, and even gods...

And although the sentiment is nice, we are but wizards. Wizards, witches and  mages.  — Bathilda Bagshot,  author of A History of Magic

Wizards live a few more years than muggles, still short-lived in comparison to goblins, centaurs, and mermaids. Perhaps it is because of their shorter lives that they strive to achieve as much as they can in the years they are given, and sometimes to increase said lifespan. Whatever drives them, wizards are the innovators, the achievers, and the pioneers of the world.

A Broad Spectrum

Much like muggles, wizards are more physically diverse than other common races. There is no typical wizard. An individual can stand from 5 feet to a little over 6 feet tall and weigh from 125 to 250 pounds. Human skin shades range from nearly black to very pale, and hair colors from black to blond (curly, kinky, or straight); males might sport facial hair that is sparse or thick. Some wizards have a dash of nonhuman blood, revealing hints of giant, veela, or even mermaid. Wizards reach adulthood in their late teens and often live a bit longer than a single century.

Some hate em, some like em.

Goblins. “Annoying little buggers. Disrespectful, many are. And untrustworthy... at least, they don't trust us.”

Muggles. “Some hate em, some love em. Most of us don't mind as long as they stay oblivious.”

House elves. “Awfully useful. And highly magical, and powerful... good thing they always want a master to serve! Or else they'd be unhinged! Aha... ha... ha...”
