Homebrew Demon Species Details

Physical Description

Demons are mostly humanoid creatures. They height ranges from 4 to 8ft, making them medium. Weight can vary. They have unusual skin colors, mostly darkened and unsaturated ones, crimson red, for example. Their eyes are widened, pupils are dilated. They have fangs and claws which they can hide. Some still have wings, though they're hideous, of a black colour, feathers ripped off while some of the others are rotting. Only few demons know how to groom their wings, and only those they have look at least a bit presentable. They have patches on their skin, and a huge burn mark on whatever place they were injected with the serum in. Some demons are more humanoid, some, which are more corruped, look more like monsters of some kind, with extragerated features and the weirdest combinations of animal traits (the main ingredient for a serum is a blood of an animal or a human, and it depends on..from who was it taken) 

 

History

A long time ago there was an Angel called Caleos, and he was unhappy with how the whole world currently was. There was too much good, everyone seemed like zombies following the rules and directions some higher creature gave them. He gor tired of that, he started spreading rumours, he was so disgusted of his kind that he searched for a solution to make himself look diffirent, to act diffirent, to be stronger..to be immortal. And he found it. He found a cure, he found a serum that he thought could make him better. And it did, yet in a completely diffirent way that he has expected. Now he was stronger, his wings, he thought, were slowly starting to fall out..he grew claws, his eyesight worsened in the sunlight yet was better in the dark..and most importantly, he felt superior. His skin turned a diffirent color, his regenerative abilities rose way too much. And he searched for other angels, he began corrupting them slowly from the inside, pretending to be one of them and then injecting them with the serum, making them slowly go insane. Every demon was insane, that was the side effect. They started seeing things, they were tormented by voices telling them to commit cruel things, they were blinded by their desperate want to gain more power. Some went completely nuts, loosing their head and even ending their life to get rid of such things.. some were more lucky, they only had some of the side effects then the others had. Lucky ones. 

A demon who's not able to think or act on their will anymore is considered a monster, and must be killed before they bring harm to anyone.

 

Society

Demons live in a hierarchy of strength. They tent to live on the outskirts of humanity and civilization so their appearance doesn't get noticed, so that nobody would get suspicious. Some knew how to disguise himself, the others were way too corrupted to even think, wandering around and getting killed by adventurers who thought they were monsters. Maybe they were them, after all. Demons are like one complete web, if the creator calls, they must obey, its difficult to resist any of the directions he now gives, anything he says has a hypnotic effect..does it.

 

Demon Names

Demons either keep their name from before they became a demon, or they change it either because they want to embrace their new life or because the violent transformation damaged or erased their memories. The names have no specific requirements or rules, but they're mostly associated with something dark, and consist of a lot of letters, making them quite complicated.

The Demons have a lot of diffirent traits and abilities, and that varies from..when and how were they created.

Flying

You're able to fly by using your wings. But, you're easily exhausted by doing it and need some rest after. Your flying speed is 30feet

Ability Score Increase

Your Strength and Dexterity scores are increased by 2.

Age

A demon becomes an adult at the same time as a human, yet many don't know their ages at all. After corruption, demons can live up to 500 years, are considered old at the age of 450 (become weaker)

 

Size

Demons range from under 4 to over 8 feet tall and have various. Your size is Small-medium

The serum

You know how to make the exact serum to turn others into demons, and are proficient in [Tooltip Not Found]

Speed

Your base walking speed is 25 feet.

Vision

Accustomed to darkness and long life in caves or underground during to the orders of the creator and effect of the serum, you have supperior vision in dim conditions. At night you can see almost perfectly, as elves can see at day. Yet, at day, your vision worsens. You're able to see light within 30feet from yourself, and are absolutely unable to see any colours.

Keen Senses

You have proficiency in the Intimidation skill.

Languages

Demons can read, write and speak the Common language. They also have their own, which is basically a very simplified version of elvish accompanied with hand-signs. Some, who are able to do so, learn additional languages to fit better into the society.
