Homebrew Desert Grung Species Details

Desert Grungs are aggressive froglike humanoids adapted to life in the harsh desert. Much like their more moist neighbors, Desert Grungs are fiercely territorial and see themselves as superior to most other creatures. They often crowd around oasis and bodies of water and will defend their territory with their lives. 

Desert Grungs have lost the need to completely submerge themselves in water for survival. However, they have also lost their poisonous skin. 

Desert Grung eggs can only be successfully incubated in water. Without a constant source of moisture, they will dry out and die. 

They come in various desertous shades of brown, grey, dull green, rusty red, and occasionally black. 

Desert Grung Traits

Grungs are small humanoids.

Ability Score Increase.

• Your Dexterity score increases by 2 and your Constitution score increases by 1.

Age.

• Desert Grungs mature to adulthood in a single year, but have been known to live up to 50 years.

Alignment.

• Desert Grungs live in a dog-eat-dog world where they must be fierce to survive. They’re loyal to their family units, and mostly lean towards a lawful alignment.

Size.

• Desert Grungs stand between 2 ½ and 3 ½ feet tall and average about 30 pounds. Your size is Small.

Speed.

• You have a walking speed of 30 feet. Your sticky finger and toe pads give you a climb speed of 20 feet. Your ancient instincts guide you in water, giving you a swimming speed of 20 feet. 

Amphibious

You can breathe air and water.

Standing Leap.

• Your long jump is up to 25 feet and your high jump is up to 15 feet, with or without a running start.
