Homebrew Wendigo Species Details
Standing on average at a towering 9 feet tall, wendigos are taller than most races. Their most identifying physical trait is their head. A wendigo's head resembles a bare skull of some type of cervid, with two large canine teeth on the front of the upper and lower mandibles, nestled behind these canines are a set of molars designed for crushing plant matter and bone. A pair of large regal antlers sit atop the head, the amount of points and the broadness of the antlers directly correlate to the wendigo's age, a young wendigo will have antlers like that of a deer, while a older wendigo will have antlers similar like that to a moose. Older wendigos have been seen etching runes and designs into their skulls and antlers, the use of these runes is unknown. Sitting under the antlers are two eye sockets each are nearly empty save for a red ball of primeaval energy thought to serve the purpose of the wendigo's eye. Moving down from the head is an emaciated humanoid body with features similar of that to someone suffering from advanced malnutrition and dehydration. Fur covers certain parts of a wendigo's body, most commonly being the back and legs, however wendigos with a full coat of furry integument have been witnessed, this fur can have a wide range of colors, but the most common are thought to be black, white, grey, and brown. A wendigo's skin is generally a rotten brown, with a leathery texture resembling that of dried meat, the skin is resistant to being peirced, acting as a sort of natural armor however, wendigos have been seen wearing armor ranging from wood to platemail. Adopting a ungulagrade stance the wendigo stands on two large cloven hooves. The wendigo's arms are unnaturally long nearly one and a half times the wendigo's height from tip to tip, a gnarly claw tips each finger making the wendigo adept at climbing and digging. Despite their frail appearance the wendigo is incredibly strong, and agile, with strength comparable to a goliath.
