A Small Goblinoid fiend that can shapeshift and feed on the souls of the dead. from huge hulking bat-wolf like creatures or small fluffy soul snatchers the Barghest can turn to objects, people or so, so much more.

you can shift your form into an object or a creature

Shapeshift

you can transform into any object or creature you've observed before for 2d6 hours or until you take damage or until canceled.

Keen Smell

You have advantage on wisdom saving throws and enemies have disadvantage on stealth check in a 30 foot radius around you. 

Innate Spellcasting

you gain access to the spells Minor Illusion and Charm Person
