Homebrew Bugorc Species Details

Standing in-between the height of both their parent races, most Bugorcs are mistaken as an extremely hairy orc or a rather stout and muscular bugbear.

With pronounced tusks, strong features, and skin color that ranges from yellow, reddish-brown, gray, or even green tones, they have a vast amount of body hair that spans most of their body almost like an animal's pelt.

Bugorc Traits

Your Orcbear character has traits deriving from your orc and bugbear ancestry.

Ability Score Increase

When determining your character’s ability scores, increase one of those scores by 2 and increase a different score by 1.
If you gain more than one increase, you can’t apply those increases to the same ability score, and you can’t increase a score above 20.

Age

Bugorcs mature similarly to their parents, reaching adulthood around age 16 and rarely live longer than 75 years.

Size

Orcbears stand in between both of their parent races height, ranging from 6 to 8 feet tall. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Darkvision

Thanks to your orc and bugbear heritage, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Powerful Build

You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.

Clever Intuition

You have proficiency in two of the following skills of your choice: Animal Handling, Insight, Intimidation, Medicine, Perception, Survival, and Stealth.

Relentless Endurance

When you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead. You can’t use this feature again until you finish a long rest.

Savage Attacks

When you score a critical hit with a melee weapon attack, you can roll one of the weapon’s damage dice one additional time and add it to the extra damage of the critical hit.

Surprise Attack

Once you hit a creature with an attack roll, the creature takes an extra 2d6 damage if it hasn't taken a turn yet in the current combat.

Languages

Your character can speak, read, and write Common and two other language that you and your DM agree is appropriate for the character. The Player’s Handbook offers a list of languages to choose from. The DM is free to modify that list for a campaign.
