Homebrew Xotl Species Details

Long ago, these peaceful creatures lived underwater. But after a while, they decided to grant their knowledge to the other races. They decided to go to the surface, building two different communities. Though, both communities share the same traits. They can breath in water and on air, and they are swift and charming.

Xotls are reptilians. They have a long slender body, with a slim tail. They on their face, they have external gills that look like frills on their face. Their small arms are webbed, to help with underwater movement. Xotls come in many colors, which depend on genetics.

Xotl Traits

Your xotl character has certain characteristics in common with all other xotl.

Ability Score Increase

Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Charisma score increases by 1.

Age

Xotls mature faster than humans and reach adulthood at 5. They often die between 20-30 years old.

Alignment

Xotls are harmless and peaceful creatures, so they tend toward a good alignment.

Size

Xotls are somewhat shorter then humans, standing between 4 and 5 feet. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet, and you have a swimming speed of 30 feet.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and Primordial.

Amphibious

You can breathe air and water.

Sensitive Frills

Xotls have sensitive frills, which allow them to sense their environment better. You get an advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks.
