Homebrew Arenean Species Details
Dextrous and ingenious, the Areneans are one of the most succesful races of the Underdark. Their ability to weave almost anything from their silk has become an invaluable resource to many other nations, both above and below the ground. Thus, it is no surprise that the nation whose majority the Areneans comprise are called The Weavers.
Their body is considered as one of the most versatile marvels of biological evolution. They have inherited many of the spider's most desireable traits such as being able to climb, impeccable sight, and of course the ability to weave. Meanwhile, their humanoid torso has granted them a less monstrous appearance, allowing for other nations not to perceive them as the giant predators to whom they are related. Additionally, their upper body allows for the application of various martial skills as well as the general flexibility that comes with opposable thumbs.

Emissary of Darkness
Being natives to the Underdark, the Areneans have developed the ability to see in the darkness in the lands devoid of sunlight. However, their reliance on their smell and hearing has caused their vision to become somewhat less sharp than it might be.
You can see in dim light within 30 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
You also have advantage on Perception checks that rely on your sense of sound and hearing.
