Homebrew Avem Species Details

Avems live on an island called Aevern. Different Avems have different wings, which can be helpful in different ways. Each avems wings are similar to certain bird wings. The beginning of avems is unknown, but it is widely believed that they were a group of humans experimented on and then placed on an island once failed. Others believe it was some form of genetic mutation.

Avems are very similar to humans when it comes to variety and diversity. They also look like humans, just with wings and lighter bones in order to fly. 

Avem Traits

It’s hard to make generalizations about humans, but your human character has these traits.

Wings

You can have any type of feathered wings. They cannot be larger than 7 ft when folded. 

Ability Score Increase

Your ability scores each increase by 1.

Age

Humans reach adulthood in their late teens and live less than a century.

Size

Your size is medium. Your wings can vary in size but are usually between a span of 7 ft total to 14 ft total.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet. Your base flying speed is 30 feet.

You can speak, read, and write Common, Aeve (ay-veh), and one extra language of your choice.
