Homebrew Canim Species Details

The ever-seeking dog-folk of the great City-state of Cania. They exist far to the east, through the great Rending Way. Their people style themselves as perfectionist, the epitome of not only their own culture but other's as well. After taking the City Oath young Canim are sent forth into the world on their Haerenga (Journey, in Aleran) to discover their life's purpose. Once they find a passion, they will pursue it dogmatically until they believe themselves the greatest one can possibly be at that ideal or craft. However this lofty sentiment has caused many poor dog-folk to languish beneath the weight of their own calling as it can take year or even decades before the Haerenga is completed. With recent times however, the Canish have become less and less common here in the west, especially since the creation of the Great Aleran Wastes as travel between their lands and the Dominions of Man require passage through this place.

Indeed, many who have sought their Haerenga in the west now worry that they may be unable to return to Cania even should they become an exemplar of their chosen task.
