Homebrew Andiatra Species Details
Andiatra are manifestations of magic from the shattered elemental Rindatra. Their forms vary widely, given shape by things that attract or interest them. Their level of sentience varies, with most being little more than instinctual creatures drawn to the shattered pieces of Rindatra. Others are fully sentient often taking forms more influenced by humanoids. Most seek out the broken remains of Rindatra, either to gain more power or retain their sentience.
Andiatra Traits
Your Andiatra character has the following racial traits.Ability Score Increase
Your Charisma score increases by 2 and Constitution increases by 1.
Age
Andiatra do not age as typical races do. Instead, as their forms slowly expend the energy that formed them they diminish in size and sentience, eventually disappearing altogether. If an Andiatra can find additional sources of Rindatras magic they can delay their waining. Some do this by seeking out Star Shards, the shattered remains of the elemental that birthed them, others by consuming other Andiatra.
Size
Andiatra can vary in both size and weight, most sentient examples are similar in range to humans.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision
You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Resonance
Once per long rest you may focus on the arcane energies within you. For 10 minutes any magical sources within a 30' radius resonate to your own energy, revealing themselves to you. This ability does not give you any information about the nature of the magic you sense, only its location.
Starborn
Your origin as a manifestation of Rindatras magic means you lack the traditional needs of organic beings. You can eat but it provides no benefits unless consuming a piece of Rindatra or another Andiatra. Instead, you must periodically absorb magical sources to stave off fading. The chart below outlines how long magical items of different rarities can sustain you.

- Artifact- 3 years
*Consuming a pure Starshard provides twice the benefit for its rarity level. Consuming other Andiatra offers similar benefits based on their size or relative power level. How much energy any individual (none PC) Andiatra provides is ultimately up to dm discretion.
