Homebrew Àtemi Species Details
Thieves' guilds with magically inclined members often imbue particularly crafty snakes with intelligence, telepathy, and the ability to summon and control up to one hundred mage hands simultaneously to aid the guild. The small, stealthy creatures are capable of carrying out heists that are logically impractical for humanoids due to their bulk. Predictably, the clever reptiles often escape their creators and carve out small territories for themselves in the more disreputable parts of cities where their true identities won't easily be discovered.
Aberrant History
These magically altered snakes were originally created by a powerful wizard to aid him in his tasks, but much to his surprise they were intelligent enough to escape and began stealing for pleasure.
Hidden In Plain Sight
Looking generally indistinguishable from normal snakes, Àtemi are tipically 6 to 15 feet long with varying patterns ranging from black to white and everything inbetween with venomous members usually being more brightly colored than their constrictor brethren who tend towards mottled browns and greens.
Mischievous Thieves
Snakes with a hundred Mage Hands or Àtemi are known for their mischievous nature. Many are kleptomaniacs and swindlers, using their talents to deceive humanoids and steal objects they find pleasing.
