Homebrew Dark Dweller Species Details

 

Long ago it is said that a group of wandering soldiers discovered the presence of a dark and powerful demon. The group decided to make a bargain with the demon to save their homeland from the invasion of further kingdoms, but in return they were cursed with servitude to the demon and were granted the ability to control darkness itself. This is how the Dark Dweller were born. A race of descendants to these original soldiers. The dark dwellers are born into the same curse as their ancestors. Gaining abilities and special spells to control darkness itself, but at the cost of being at the mercy and subject to their demonic overlord who serves as a deity figure for them. 

Human in build and nature with the exception of having deep golden eyes. Dark Dwellers tend to have natural connections to dark auras. 

Heirs to the Dark Curse

 

Dark Dwellers have special connections to dark worlds, and are often seen as moody beings. They are historical in nature, leaning towards study of where they come from. Most Dark Dwellers tend to come from two separate ideologies. Those who wish to free the race from the curse, and those who see it as an honor to serve the dark beings and hold fast to the teachings of their ancestors. Their alignment is influenced by their ideologies.  

 

Dark Dweller lands

As a race of ancestors, the Dark Dwellers only forged one civilization. There may be wanderers that have migrated and live throughout the land, but most Dark Dwellers originate from the same city/territory. Their home is not part of any civilized construct forged by the creatures of society, as they see themselves as apart from the land, really only serving the dark realms more than the land. While Dark Dwellers home exist on the world, they tend to be more comfortable in dark realms, fey wild, and dimensions of hell.

Dark Dwellers tend to use similar naming conventions of mankind, which is the race that the originating soldiers come from.
