Homebrew Crokodan (Keckokauie) Species Details
"The Keckokauie, more typically referred to as Crokodans, were the foremost inhabitants and native people of Byrewavoon far before we Orcs arrived in this land. The Keckokauie are beyond fascinating creatures; they're a druidic and nomadic yet spiritual culture attuned to Uavopia. It's acknowledged they're the evolved forms of early crocodilians, sharing considerable quantities of their biological makeup with their Crocodilia cousins, further demonstrated by their physical & primal capabilities. They're truthfully a force to be reckoned with if provided a reason to defend themselves, such as the harsh dwellers of Byrewavoon, which illustrates their devastating reputation as capable combatants. However, they operate stunningly well with other races and are surprisingly amiable despite their otherwise daunting appearance. They don't depend on brutality to unravel their trials; nevertheless, I'd counsel you not to harm or severely double-cross even one of them. Because, despite their welcoming hospitality, they do not take gracious to those who threaten them or their people. For it's a fight, not even us Orcs would dare challenge. Crokodans are sufficiently comprehended to recover quickly and maintain the extraordinary capability to go an extended epoch without ingesting nourishment. Some journals articulate from 2-3 years, which seems ridiculous but possible given their similarities with wild crocodilians. Nothing else is known about the Keckokauie, and I believe they wish to keep it that way."
Crokodans are a humanoid race of crocodilians that have rapidly evolved and become a ferocious species. They are natural-born swimmers and hunters. Like most humanoid creatures, they walk on two legs and can use handheld weapons.
Children of Ckuackie (Sobek)
Ckuackie the River Dragon, God of Water, Fertility and Crocodilians. Many millennia ago, before the events of the Cataclysm, Ckuackie empowered the Keckokauie to reach this point of evolution from their crocodilian ancestors. The Crokodans worship this deity-like second nature; the same is true for any Keckokauie who lives amongst other civilizations; the connection to Ckuackie goes beyond the limits of reality. Every Crokodan knows Ckuackie, even if they've never worshipped or heard of his name. Some Keckokauie listen to whispers and see visions of Ckuackie in their dreams, guiding them to a greater calling. The presents of Ckuackie is most felt when Crokodans find themselves at the crossroads of their destiny; he guides the Keckokauie down the path they must take.
Ckuackie is usually portrayed as a humanoid crocodilian male with the left side of bodies' scales being albino white and the right being coal black; his left eye is opal black, while his left is diamond white. Displaying a Yin and Yang-like impression across his physical appearance, mirroring his primal and divine nature. He is often adorned in golden and black metallic Egyptian Pharaoh attire. Carrying an Egyptian Ankh amulet in his left hand, a sickle-like blade called a Khopesh sheathed upon his back, and a Double-Bladed Palm Axe polearm with his right hand, all matching the colouration of the Pharaoh Garb.
Inquisitive Thinkers and Philosophers
Crokodans are naturally curious about all that the world offers—gathering knowledge, stories, and history; and inscribing all into their vast libraries. Keckokauie often enter deep philosophical debates and conversations, curiously determining the meaning of every little thing amongst the endless possibilities of reality itself. Crokodan will often begin an inner discussion within themselves while meditating or travelling across the land, determining the meaning of all aspects of their lives and what significance that brings to them. Every couple of years, the Kackicokuce will send out a division of Keckokauie to learn about the matter of the surrounding civilizations and the development of the world. After years of travel and adventuring, the Crokodans will return with the knowledge they've obtained and record their findings in their sacred libraries.
Prayers of Nature
Crokodans have a potent and primal connection to the forces of nature itself. Many Keckokauie feel this connection through the Worldheart by the Divine Magic of Ckuackie. Unlike other gods, they believe he did not create the Crokodans; instead, he evolved them from their crocodilian ancestors. Similar to druids, Keckokauie revere nature above all and worship the land as much as their deity. All Crokodans pursue mystical and spiritual transcendence with the forces of nature, influenced by the presence of Ckuackie. In addition, as with druids, Keckokauie of the Worldheart will not wear armor or use shields made of metal. Using metal armor or shields is taboo in Crokodan culture; however, clerics of Ckuackie are permitted to do so. They believe it will cut off their connection to the Worldheart, nature, and their druidic magic. Nonetheless, they will use metallic weapons, especially Khosephs and Palm Axes; however, they wield a double-bladed modified variation of the Palm Axe.
This Double-Bladed Palm Axe is the traditional weapon wielded by the Keckokauie. They use these weapons for combat and ceremonies. It was inspired by the Egyptian Palm Axe, a unique polearm with a giant axe head on the tip of its handle, making it more of a spear than a battle axe. This weapon is rather sizeable and gives the user a superior range advantage. A swing with this weapon can inflict severe damage. The Crokodan have modified this weapon for their people, adding a second smaller bladed head at the opposing side of the polearm. In addition, this Palm Axe can split into two handaxes granting the user dual-wielding versatility and moveability.
Keckokauie believe in maintaining the utmost balance with nature, spirits, and personal qualities, balancing the Worldheart and Uavopia, life and death, and good and evil. However, their beliefs aren't draconian; instead, they preserve them as a guide to one's being. They believe all things must die and continue the natural order of life, meaning the Crokodan archdruids forsake extending their life. Because of their twin nature with Ckuackie and the Worldheart, Keckokauie have a dual belief in death and the afterlife. They return the body to the earth with the Worldheart and ascend the spirit soul with Ckuackie in the sky. Finally, Crokodans often tame countless animals as companions; this many consists of reptiles, with crocodilians being their favourite choice. The bond they share with their beast companions is deep and spiritual, being able to understand each other without the use of spells such as beast bond or speak with animals.
Scaly and Ferocious
Keckokauie have scaly green and brown pigmentation, powerful jaws with many conical teeth and long legs with clawed webbed toes. They share a unique body form that allows the eyes, ears, and nostrils to be above the water's surface while most of the body is hidden below. The tail is long and massive, and the skin is thick and plated. Crokodans take pride in their scales and keep them exceptionally maintained—however, many Keckokauie fancy scars across the body to show their strength, experience and supreme discipline of self. Crokodans are not Chaotic by choice but by nature. Many have broken this primal bond. Almost all Keckokauie are neutral; however, chaos lingers deep inside them, calling back to their predatory instincts. Not all can resist this natural temptation.
Like crocodilians, Crokodans lay eggs in large groups called pods. Compared to their reptilian counterparts, the number of eggs laid in these pods is heavily reduced. This is because of their evolutionary difference: from 30-60 eggs to 10-20. Keckokauie mature at the age of eight and average at 6 to 7 feet tall; however, it is common for Crokodans to grow enormous in size.
Ammits
When the Keckokauie are threatened by forces they cannot defeat, Ckuackie will send almighty and divine beasts called Ammits to their aid in desperate times. The Ammits have the head of a crocodile, a lion's forequarters, and a hippo's hindquarters. Ammit, Goddess of worthiness, death, and execution, observed the dead as they passed through the afterlife; before her demise at the hands of the Deserter Gods. To honor the fallen Goddess, Ckuackie conjures this celestial beast to watch over the Crokodan.

Kackicokuce (Pharaoh) - Cekio (Chaos) Family
The Kackicokuce are a bloodline of Keckokauie with mighty Primal Magic known as the Cekio family. The Kackicokuce lineage is believed to be the direct descendants of Ckuackie infused with the primal nature of the Worldheart. They resemble one-half of the typical depictions of the River Dragon, with their scales being albino white and their eyes opal black. Whether the Kackicokuce is male or female, they are the ruler over the Crokodan, unlike many other monarch-like civilizations where the male overrules the female. When the Kackicokuce or its mate produces offspring, one of the hatchlings will be a Kackicokuce to continue the bloodline. The other hatchlings will likely become Cekkos to defend and serve under their sibling to ensure the survival of their species. If the Kackicokuce dies before an heir, one of the Kackicokuce's siblings chosen by Ckuackie will undergo metamorphosis by bathing themselves in a pool of mud blessed by the River Dragon over many months, with other ceremonies and blessings to guide the ritual. After completing this transformation, their body will remain the same size and weight. However, the pigmentation of their scales will become albino white, and their eyes will become opal black. They also will be gifted with Primal Magic by the Worldheart.
Ceckicokuce (Lector) - Ickok (Order) Family
The Ceckicokuce are a bloodline of Keckokauie devoted to the Kackicokuce and Ckuackie and blessed with omnipotent potential known as the Ickok family. The Ceckicokuce lineage is believed to be the divine embodiment of the River Dragon and his sacred gifts. They resemble the other half of the typical depictions of Ckuackie, with their scales being coal black and their eyes diamond white. Whether the Ceckicokuce is male or female, they are the personal priest/priestess and advisor of the Kackicokuce within their counsel. Like the Kackicokuce, when a Ceckicokuce or its mate produces offspring, one of the hatchlings will be a Ceckicokuce to continue the bloodline. The other hatchlings will likely become Cekkos to defend and serve under their sibling to ensure the survival of their species. If the Ceckicokuce dies before an heir, one of their siblings chosen by River Dragon will undergo a divine sacrilege by performing a holy ritual in honour of the Ckuackie. This ceremony can take many months to achieve and will test the devotion of the Crokodan executing the rite. After completing this transformation, their body will remain the same size and weight. However, the pigmentation of their scales will become coal black, and their eyes will become diamond white. They also will be gifted with the Divine Magic of the River Dragon.
Cikeucoka (Rite of Passage)
The heirs of the Kackicokuce and Ceckicokuce families undergo a rite of passage called the Cikeucoka to determine their worthiness and when they're prepared to assume the mantle of their forefathers. These trials are determined by the current Kackicokuce, Ceckicokuce, and council members and can vary from long journeys across Byrewavoon, retrieving rare and magical artefacts, or vanquishing great evils. Every heir has a specified duration to accomplish their rite of passage determined by their assigned duty and is accompanied by a council member or another reputable individual. If they fail, the council may provide an exception or prolong the original trial if the rite of passage was unjust or outside forces interfered with the ordeal. Eventually, the heirs will succeed and bear the mantle once their parents relinquish the position and assume their standing from their meritorious lineages.
Cackiks (Factions)
The Keckokauie often only accept others of their kin into their Cackiks but make exceptions for those they believe are worthy enough to be initiated. These Cackiks are led by mighty and wise Crokodans, referred to as Cekko, which are the generals, protectors, and royal counsel of the Kackicokuce. When a Keckokauie joins a Cackik, they work their way up the ranking hierarchy unless they already had a high reputation before their initiation. The Kackicokuce's Council is a sacred and cultural ideal. The wisest and most knowledgeable leaders amongst the Cackiks meet with the Kackicokuce to discuss matters regarding their civilization. Despite the Kackicokuce's position as monarch, the counsel is the true leader. The Kackicokuce oversees and listens to the perspective of the Cekkos, using their wisdom to help guide and direct their people.
"The high mages and scholars refer to this leadership as very similar to the Philosopher King. From my knowledge, my world has no such thing; these Crokodans are quite intriguing."
— Arzyn Varathorne, Sorlock of the Dukes of Hazard

Cekkos (Medjays)
A Cekko is a protector of the Kackicokuce and leads a fraction of the Keckokauie that follow them. Many of the Cackik's members have proven themselves, or the Cekko believes they are worthy enough to be initiated into their faction. Most Cekko's have a small group of commanders, around five, called Keikoca. They also lead many captains called Kikcies, around about twenty. These members are the Keikoca's most trusted and strongest warriors in their ranks. To become a Cekko, a Keikoca must prove themselves to a Kackicokuce in various fields by demonstrating; combat prowess, mastery of druidic magic and nature, and finally, high loyalty. The Kackicokuce prefers failure on the first trial and succession upon the second or third but does not contest against early success. It demonstrates that individuals can adapt to challenging tasks and push themselves forward, showing that they can improve. When a Keikoca receives the title of Cekko, they are taught high Primal Magic by the Kackicokuce, which they pass on to their followers within the faction. They are then assimilated into the Kackicokuce's counsel.
Keikocas (Seties)
The Keikocas are the commanding officers of the Cekko. They relay orders throughout the faction and keep other members in line. The Keikocas are tasked to defend significant territory with the help of the Kikcies; they are in charge of arranging and managing supplies for their faction and overseeing initiations. The Keikocas can be assigned to Cekko as bodyguards if the Cekko requires assistance or isn't set to the Kackicokuce. To become a Keikoca, a Kikcie must prove themselves to a Cekko in various fields by demonstrating; combat prowess, mastery of druidic magic and nature, and finally, high loyalty. After becoming a Keikoca, their Cekko teaches Primal magic equivalent to their rank.
Kikcies (Chiefs)
The Kikcies are captains of small forces of Crokodan warriors; they take direct orders from the Keikocas and lead out assaults. They are also tasked with training the faction's warriors. Like Keikocas, Kikcies can be assigned to Cekko as bodyguards if necessary and to Keikocas unless they are already guarding a Cekko. To become a Kikcie, a Cukakie must prove themselves to a Keikoca in various fields by demonstrating; combat prowess, mastery of druidic magic and nature, and finally, high loyalty to the Keikoca of their faction. Once becoming a Kikcie, they are taught druidic magic equivalent to their rank. Kikcies teach essential druid magic to their Cukakie warriors whenever they get the opportunity.
Cukakies (Machimois)
The Cukakies are the primary military force of all Cackiks within the Keckokauie society. Cukakies are often the youngest or least experienced among their faction's warriors. However, many Crokodans have yet to progress further than a Cukakie to remain the front-line force of their Cackik. When Keckokauie are selected to become a Cukakie, they are most often picked out by a Kikcie or Keikoca. Still, on the rare occasion, a Cekko may see to which Crokodans will join their Cackik and accept or decline them personally. After the selection trials, it is up to the Kikcies to train and teach the recruits.

Crokodan names consist of Cs and Ks, with only vowels filling in the gaps. Keckokauie family names tend to be only three to five letters. Whenever Crokodans change their name, they almost always are Egyptian names; due to the influence of Ckuackie, these names come naturally. However, it is common to hear about a Keckokauie who has changed their name accordingly to the civilization norms.

Suggested Racial Characteristics
Crokodans are shaped by their experience in life and communities. They often hold higher ideals and bonds mixed with their personality traits. However, the continuous pursuit of genocide against the Keckokauie has left deep wounds within the hearts of their people. Historical Events
Note: These events can be alternated to fit different settings and are not limited to Uavopia or Byrewavoon.
BLD = Before Larloch's Defeat. - ALD = After Larloch's Defeat.
Dawn of Time:
When the deities arrived in Uavopia and initiated the creation of their disciples, Ckuackie, God of the Keckokauie, decided to evolve rather than conjure. He observed the resilience of crocodilians and developed the species now known as the Crokodans. The Keckokauie were the first humanoids to settle within Byrewavoon and establish it as their home. They began as simple tribes but, within time, became an allied culture of Druidic nomads aligned under Ckuackie and their Kackicokuce.
Cataclysm: (3000 - 1500 BLD)
When the Gods began to fight amongst themselves, the Crokodan fought alongside the Protector Gods. Despite being mere mortals, the Keckokauie aided in fending off the fanatics of the Deserter Gods. After the Cataclysm subsided, the Crokodans assisted in repairing the damage caused by the war between gods. Tending to the sick and wounded whose homes were destroyed during these events and welcoming them with open arms into Byrewavoon.
Zar'ithra the Wicked: (1450 - 1000 BLD)
Half a century after the Cataclysm had ceased, a new being threatened the material plane. That being an all-powerful and omnipotent Ancient Red Dragon calling herself Zar'ithra the Wicked. She tore through anyone who stood in her path, reducing all to rubble. The Dragon called forth some of the Uavopia's mightiest defenders and even the champion of the Cataclysm. However, Zar'ithra slayed all of them, one after another. None matched her power, and she threatened to conquer the world. Until the Kackicokuce of the Keckokauie rose to the task, banishing Zar'ithra to the Shadowfell, unable to destroy the Dragon due to her mysterious divine nature. Unfortunately, some residents of Byrewavoon were not satisfied by this conclusion, namely the Elven people, who were most affected by Zar'ithra's assaults. They assembled a colossal army to adventure deep into the Shadowfell to enact revenge upon the Dragon. Blinded by vengeance, the Elves of Byrewavoon charged into the Shadowfell, taking everything they had to destroy Zar'ithra. However, after they did, none of them were seen again, leaving whatever Elven people remained in Byrewavoon and all of Uavopia dying out centuries later.
Revival of Byrewavoon: (1000 - 500 ALD)
After the loss of the Elven people, the Crokodan swore to resurrect their home from the calamity produced by Zar'ithra the Wicked. Rebuilding the kingdoms, cities, and villages left behind by the fallen civilization. Safeguarding the artefacts and memorials left behind by those passed. The damage done by the Ancient Dragon had left its mark across Byrewavoon, from the tallest towering mountain monuments to the plunging subterranean societies. However, Byrewavoon would be restored to its former glory in time, and peace would finally grace the beautiful land once consumed by chaos.
Dominion of Larloch the Shadow King: (500 - 0 BLD)
As centuries passed and civilizations began to structure themselves again, a dark force arose within Uavopia. An evil Archmage was corrupted by greed and power, achieving Lichdom. The wicked mage conquered all of Uavopia, reducing countless societies to rubble and erasing their history. His undead armies threatened to swallow the world until the power of the Worldheart blessed the righteous. Standing together with those who survived his onslaught, the people of Uavopia locked the Shadow King deep within the earth—leaving him to rot for eternity.
Vanquish of Larloch: (0 BLD - 0 ALD)
Larloch was finally defeated by the remaining survivors of Uavopia, united under the Order of Uavopia. After Larloch was defeated, he and his undead generals were locked away in tombs deep within Uavopia, sealed by powerful magic and guarded by mighty arcane traps, Iron Golems, and magical wards.
Larloch's Generals:
- Dargvagrog the Wings of Death (Ancient Red Dracolich)
- Endymion the Gravedigger (Boneclaw)
- Karvon the Nightmare of Uavopia (Skull-Lord)
- Lorenzo, Champion of the Dead (Death Knight)
- Sokhalsh the Deathless Eye (Death Tyrant)
Union of Byrewavoon: (01 ALD)
The Keckokauie and new denizens of Byrewavoon came together after Larloch was imprisoned and formed the Guardians of Byrewavoon. They ensured the Artefacts' protection on the continent of Byrewavoon. By destroying or capturing the most powerful beings across Uavopia and the other realms, they could ensure that the Deserter Gods' never returned to the material plane, for it would spell doom for all of Uavopia.
Monstrosities of Byrewavoon: (01 - 4600 ALD)
The Guardians of Byrewavoon protected the land from the monstrous creatures unleashed from the shattered and damaged realms that leaked into the material plane. Destroying those they could and capturing those they could not. All to ensure the safety of Byrewavoon, its people, and the Worldheart.
Imprisonment of the Dragon Queen: (50 - 550 ALD)
In the early years after Larlochs defeat and the union of the Guardians of Byrewavoon, the Queen of Dragons herself, Tiamat, was spotted within Byrewavoon. She had been hiding within the mortal realm for two millennia to escape the Protector Gods. With her sudden discovery, she lashed out against the descents of Byrewavoon. Despite being significantly weakened from the Cataclysm and missing her Red Chromatic head, devasting her way across the land. The fallen Goddess was far too powerful to be destroyed. She could not be banished to the Forsaken realm like the other Deserter Gods because only the Protector Gods could have that power. With minimal options, the Guardians of Byrewavoon called upon a courageous and noble Titan named Oblagon Tactus. They gifted him a magical sword made from a rare crystal found within Byrewavoon, which could reshape itself at the wielder's will and was blessed with divine magic. With his help, they temporarily killed Tiamat, locking her away deep within Byrewavoon, chained by a magical and indestructible metal called Zi Meval. However, Oblagon was lost in battle, succumbing to his inflictions after striking the final blow against the fallen Goddess.
Elemental Chaos: (650 - 1100 ALD)
A century after the imprisonment of the Dragon Queen, the elemental chaos that leaked through the cracks of the Elemental Planes became sporadic and uncontrollable. Much of Byrewavoon was engulfed in devastation and ruined by the destructive nature of the elemental planes. Destroying the land once so pure and untouched by mayhem into a wild land of disorder. The Guardians of Byrewavoon saw fit to restore balance and return the elementals unleashed upon Byrewavoon back to their proper place. With time all, one by one, the regions of Byrewavoon were revived and restored to their former glory and natural beauty. All but one. Only the wasteland south of Byrewavoon could not be mended by the Guardians and was left unstable by the elemental chaos upon its land. Now a plethora of elemental creatures, monsters, and abominations roam the forsaken land and persist in the mayhem upon it.
Cyclone of Blades: (1350 - 1750 ALD)
To the far north of Byrewavoon once stood a mighty city devoted to the Protector Gods; Akeitrae Covadour, the Kingdom of the Protector Gods. A metropolis of celebrating, praising, and honouring the holy sacrifices made by these deities and those who perished during the conquest the Deserter Gods left in their wake. A paradise for every living creature upon Byrewavoon and the eventual home of the most powerful member of the Guardians of Byrewavoon. The municipality stood as a beacon of unity, hope, and peace for the world of Uavopia, the continent of Byrewavoon, and the creatures which inhabit it. Until an unwelcomed quest found its way upon the city. A colossal army of machines and mechanical monstrosities was constructed to ruin the kingdom and rained down havoc upon its walls. Led by the Lord of Blades, a fanatic Warforge commander of Erathis, the Metallic Valkyrie, a Deserter God. His domination annihilated Akeitrae Covadour before he was obliterated by the surviving Guardians.
Deathless Eye of Larloch: (1975 - 2325 ALD)
Byrewavoon considered itself to be liberated of Larloch's influence millennia ago; however, it was far from gone. Frivolous mages and scholars from lands distant from Byrewavoon envisioned themselves beyond the warnings remaining within the crypts of Larloch and his generals. Assuming they could maintain the undead utilized to overthrow Uavopia long ago, they unleashed Sokhalsh, the Deathless Eye of Larloch, from his imprisonment. Believing they could use him as an instrument to obtain immortality. However, despite their arcane capabilities and prowess, their only accomplishment was to prove their mortality. Being reduced to dust. Now released from his prison, the Deathless Eye journeyed to the surface and erupted into a frenzy, bringing an entire empire to ruin before he was captured by the Guardians of Byrewavoon. Held by the same indestructible metallic chains as the Dragon Queen.
Treachery of the Colossal: (2750 - 3000 ALD)
The Guardians of Byrewavoon had devoted a previous couple of millennia to protecting their home; however, not all were satisfied with their endeavours. Judging time had driven them feeble and unworthy of harbouring Byrewavoon. The mighty Giants of Byrewavoon regarded the Guardian's procedures and creed as too merciful for the vile horrors of the land. In response, they united concurrently as an apposed order and renounced the Guardians of Byrewavoon. For a time, the two sides retained equilibrium despite their clashing ideologies; nonetheless, the differing philosophies would ultimately bring warfare between them. Conflict roared across Byrewavoon, resulting in centuries of war, and eventually, the Guardians triumphed over the Giants. However, the west temple of Byrewavoon, which housed the essence of one of the Deserter Gods, was destroyed the artefact holding their soul was lost.
The Horizon of Shadow: (3250 - 3450 ALD)
During the third millennium, after Larloch's defeat, the Guardians of Byrewavoon believed their home was safe and had finally been spared from further mayhem. However, peace was never an option within the continent of Byrewavoon. A growing cult called the Cult of Shadows and Followers of the Violet Flame, led by a Red Shadow Dragonborn, Therdath Narythas, had taken root. They began to corrupt the purity of Byrewavoon and summon the malevolent beings of the Shadowfell. Grotesque abominations of pure shadow and wickedness descended upon Byrewavoon and encompassed the entire continent in shadow. For many years Byrewavoon was subjected to this abnormal isolation from the sun, stars, and moons above until the Guardians vanquished the vile cultists and banished Therdath back to the Shadowfell.
Primal Mayhem: (3850 - 4000 ALD)
After the two centuries spent in complete shadow, Byrewavoon's wildlife had been alternated by the corrupted magic of the Shadowfell. A black sickness had spread amongst the beasts of Byrewavoon and turned them feral and rapid, lashing out at anything with a pulse. These beasts lost control of their mortal soul and had been corroded by this otherworldly disease, weakening their environment and land. The sickness didn't take long to spread across the continent and evolve to affect humanoid creatures, eventually eradicating countless villages, towns, and cities. The Guardians of Byrewavoon combated this illness with all their might; however, many fell before they could eliminate the infected creatures and cure those who could still be saved. After eradicating the Shadowfell Virus, Byrewavoon's wilderness was never the same, traumatized by its continued torment.
A Wicked Union: (4400 - 4500 ALD)
Deep beneath the earth of Uavopia, underneath the crust of Byrewavoon, was a metropolis colony of Drow and Duergar. These once-sworn enemies united under the will of Lolth, the Queen of Deception, a Deserter God, to return their people to their former recognition. Under cover of nightfall, the alliance kidnapped many of Byrewavoon's inhabitants and stole numerous magical artefacts for a ritual underground within their home. The Guardians of Byrewavoon eventually caught word of these crimes and chased down the preparators. Journeying underground, the Guardians fought through endless hordes of Duergar and Drow warriors, mages, and beasts and came across demonic and devilish abominations amongst their ranks. Reaching their colony's central kingdom, the Guardians came face-to-face with the Drow Queen, a Matron Mother of Lolth and Duergar King, and Warlord of Laduguer, the Slave Lord, another Deserter God. Together they had united their power and began to summon forth the fiendish inhabits of the Nine Hells, which granted them devilish and even demonic allies. However, before the alliance could open the gates for far more significant threats, the Guardians slew the union, annihilated their ritual site, and obliterated the city, so no one may return and continue the alliance's malicious ritual.
Invasion of the Larhalayson Empire: (4600 - 4720 ALD)
After nearly five thousand years passed in Byrewavoon under the protection of the Guardians of Byrewavoon, they reduced most of the threats from extra-dimensional planes. Peace and harmony had finally found themselves within Byrewavoon, a perfect paradise. But perfect doesn't last. A small armada arrived in Byrewavoon, bringing forth a colony of Elven folk, which surprised the inhabitants of Byrewavoon. Elves had not been seen for over five thousand years, and to have some arrive upon their shore was an odd surprise. However, unlike the kind, goodwill, and warmhearted Elves that lived in Byrewavoon long ago, they were twisted, corrupted, and cruel, killing everything in their path. The Guardians pushed back the initial fleets that found their way upon their shores, but they could not hold forever. Soon, the Larhalayson Empire began to colonize Byrewavoon and murdered countless natives and vanquished the Guardians of Byrewavoon. The Keckokauie were most affected by this invasion. Their numbers reduced from a couple hundred million to an infertile million, being pushed back deep into the land of Byrewavoon. However, it didn't stop there; the Empire took whatever it wanted, including slaves, precious resources and land. Whatever they could use for themselves, they took by force. Finally, their most wicked crime was taking trinkets made from the scaly hide of the Keckokauie, the tusks of the Orcs, the horns of Tieflings, and so much more. They were the vilest creatures to ever grace Byrewavoon.
Plague: (4745 - 4850 ALD)
After a century and a half of genocide against the Crokodans came a temporary peace with the Larhalayson Empire. The Crokodans believe a possible rebellion within the Empire brought this truce or the leaders of opposing nations within the native home of the Empire. However, it is genuinely unknown why or how, but they were granted a fleeting chance at peace. With this opportunity, the Crokodans fled to the furthermost reaches of Byrewavoon with the Orcs within Orkurd. Out of the Empire's reach. However, the Empire would never let them escape, regardless of how far they went. One day, a group of Larhalayson scouts wandered into Orkurd and attacked a group of refugees who fled to the Keckokauie to escape the Empire but were slain before they could take any of their lives. Nevertheless, it didn't matter; they had found them. Under the guise of repairing the past and forming an alliance, the Larhalayson Empire gifted them resources magically contaminated with the Shadowfell Virus that infected their people—reducing their population from millions to insignificant thousands.
Chain Breaker: (4900 - 4945)
After the plague had ravaged its way through Orkurd, those who survived were ever enslaved or fled deeper into Byrewavoon. Many were taken far away from their homes to do the bidding of the Larhalayson Empire, enslaving thousands. However, amongst the chaos, a flame ignited within the slave camps, a spark of rebellion. A young Orc male, Odorr Moonstone, was born into slavery but pledged to his people he would end the cycle. Breaking free of the chains that bound him, and after he made his escape, he vowed to return and set free all those held under the Empire's thumb, and he did. Forming a rebellion against the Empire freed his own kin and every last soul from their imprisonment. This brave and selfless act would spread across Byrewavoon, eventually reaching the other nations, forcing the Empire to release all the slaves across the continent. After his valiant efforts, Odorr was given the title of Chain Breaker by all those whose lives he restored.
War Bloodtide: (4965 - 4985 ALD)
During this time, the Blakatrex Dominion began to fight for independence from the Larhalayson Empire. However, as the Empire is prone to do, they showed no mercy. They slaughtered countless innocents to try and maintain their hold over Blakatrex. The Crokodan could not watch as they butchered those who only wanted to be free. So, they found a mighty Orcish warrior who was blessed with a whole armory of Zi Meval and became the Immortal. A fighter adorned in pure black and magical plated armor and equipped with a black metallic greatsword. This soldier fought against the tyrannical Empire, defeating entire armies single-handedly and vanquishing the previous Larhalayson King, Laucain Larhalays.
"My decision to forsake the natural order of life and prolong my own for the benefit of my people doesn't sit well with me. However, it is my duty and responsibility. For centuries I've watched over my people, furnishing the guidance I can to those in demand. I've observed Byrewavoon, my birthplace, change into a world I do not recognize as I've aged with it. Despite my shortcomings, delinquencies, and missteps, I remain the prosperity of my people. I've become a beacon of hope, an emblem of Ckuackie, and a vessel of the Worldheart. I surveyed the destruction left in the wake of the Larhalayson Empire. I bore witness to its violent nature first-hand. Losing those dearest to my heart at their hands, my siblings, my parents, and my love. However, despite all this, I do not desire their extinction but their redemption. There is more to this narrative than we comprehend. I intend to unveil what we do not understand and what has driven a once peaceful culture of wise protectors to a warmongering nation of genocidal maniacs. Even if I have to pay ultimate cost."
- Kcokace Cekio, Archdruid of the Guardians of Byrewavoon and Kackicokuce of the Keckokauie.
