Homebrew Apsara Species Details

Ancient Bharati writings speak at great length of the Apsaras. Women of divine beauty who are the embodiment of elegance and grace. Though they appear human at first glance, one finds that the longer they gaze upon them the more they are lost in their beauty, past the point of naturality. Famed for their mastery of the art of the dance, these spirits of nature bridge the gap between the material and the divine. Many of them serve in the court of Indra where they dance to the heavenly music of their male counterparts the Ghandarvas for the entertainment of the Devas. Others still remain on earth where they are free to dance and play among the forests and beautiful river streams and possibly cause mischief among any sages or rishis attempting to meditate. Once, these beautiful seductresses filled the world with their grace, now with the destruction of the natural world brought about by arcana fueled industrialization sightings of them are far and few between as much of the prime material world is simply unfit for their habitation. But sometimes, maybe just maybe, if you go into the deepest most remote parts of Bharat. The places where the jungles and forests remain untouched by the hands of man. Where the water is still pure and the flowers grow wild and free. There you might see an Apsara grace you with her unearthly beauty. Take care not to be seduced and swept away.

Apsara Magic

You know the dancing lights and druidcraft cantrip. You can cast the Disguise Self spell once with this trait and regain the ability do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the alter self spell once using this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells. 

Languages

These creatures are naturally of the fae but often have close interactions with the hosts of heaven as their skills of dance are most highly prized by the gods. As such they know the languages of both fairies and the divine.

You can speak read and write common, sylvan, and celestial.

You have proficiency in the performance skill.

Fey

Your creature type is fey, rather than humanoid.

Seductive Dance

As an action you may make a performance check to perform a bewitching dance upon a target creature you can see. Your performance check is contested by a wisdom saving throw by the target creature. On a failed save, the target creature is charmed by you for one minute.

Apsara have similar proportions to human women. Generally, with very light and dainty builds. Your creature size is medium.
