Homebrew Damned Goliath Species Details

"I'll never forget that night in the tavern. Some newer Bard by the name of Billur Quiversword had decided to come on stage. He was a pale fella, even for a goliath. He drags this poor Tiefling up on stage, tacos still hanging from her maw. I believe her name was Saschia Raeburn. I will admit, she was quite attractive and was adorned in green with a lovely flower crown. The performance that he gave, the poem written. I will remember that for all time;"

"I met a girl, truth be told,
Umber skin, and eyes of gold,
Soft lips, and a gaze that pierce,
Wild soul, and spirit fierce,
A voice so sweet, songs of bliss,
Innocence, that draws a kiss,
In the forest, she is free,
Soars the skies, for all to see,
Before you ask, let me start,
Careful with, her fragile heart,
This story, has yet to end,
Two hearts as one, well transcend"

"The crowd went silent for a few moments after. Simply in awe at how he handed his heart to her in the middle of all these people without so much as flinching. It was great until she ran out of the place but from what I hear, they ended up together with a couple of kids...twins. They have even made a name for themselves as adventurers. I can only hope that I can find someone who makes me steel myself and confess in such a fashion."

-Benjamin R. Tieg
Owner of the Troupe Tavern

To be or not to be scorned, that is what flits through the heads of every passersby. The infernal being whom bares a resembelance to a Reborn Goliath, bares the weight of three pacts. One in which enslaved the Tiefling race, one in which the Goliath was brought back to life, and lastly the one shared between two lovers.

Undying Mountain Folk/Infernal Bloodlines

Damned Goliaths are derived from human bloodlines, and in the broadest possible sense, they still look human. However, their heritage has left a clear imprint on their appearance. Damned Goliaths have large horns that take any of a variety of shapes: some have curling horns like a ram, others have straight and tall horns like a gazelle’s, and some spiral upward like an antelopes’ horns. They have thick tails, four to five feet long, which lash or coil around their legs when they get upset or nervous. Their canine teeth are sharply pointed, and their eyes are solid colors—black, red, white, silver, or gold—with no visible sclera or pupil. Their skin tones cover the full range of human coloration and have tattoos that denote family lineage. Their hair, if they choose to keep it cascades down from behind their horns, is usually dark, from brown to black, and occasionally white.

Self-Reliant and Competitive

Damned Goliaths subsist in extremely small minorities found mostly in human cities or towns in enclaves where they are treated with more respect. The citizens are often mixed on reactions, as the see both Goliath and Tiefling heritage.

Lacking a homeland, Damned Goliaths know that they have to make their own way in the world and that they have to be strong to survive. They tend to enjoy challenges and often times this can lead to an early demise. They strive for fairness, and when competing will only claim victory as long as both them and there opponent are on equal footing. They are not quick to trust anyone who claims to be a friend, but when a Damned Goliaths companions demonstrate that they trust him or her, the Damned Goliaths learns to extend the same trust to them. And once a Damned Goliaths gives someone loyalty, the Damned Goliaths is a firm friend or ally for life.

MET WITH MISTRUST

Ignorant people tend to be suspicious of Damned Goliaths, assuming that their heritage has left its mark on their personality and morality, not just their appearance. The reality is that a Damned Goliaths’s bloodline doesn’t affect their personality.
